No right thinking Italian would put sausages with pasta.

Curry wurst? Absolutely disgusting. I remember excitedly buying this in Germany and being utterly stunned that people claimed this as a national dish. Every element is wrong.
You've had a mare here

It all comes down to variety.

Is bacon pleasant? Yes of course. Does is smell heavenly? Absolutely.

But sausages…. Chorizo, black pudding, Italian sausages seasoned with fennel, the British banger, Toulouse sausage cassoulet.
Mmmmm, cassoulet. With a confit canard leg sticking out. Noice.

When asked what I miss about living in the UK I always reply, cheese and pork pies. When I went back a couple of years ago I went to M&S at the airport and bought a packet of mini pork pies, which I proceeded to eat while driving to my sister's house.

Anyone else imagining this like Alan Partridge driving to Dundee bare foot eating Toblerone??

Can't say I'm much of a fan of cat food in pastry though.

Aren't all dishes made up?
I think Mary Beard said that Roman peasants only ate Bread, olive oil and salted fish so presumably they’re the only authentic Italian dishes.

Try Cadbury’s chocolate fingers dipped in branston pickle. Out of this world.

**** me what’s next?

Piccalilli on a Jaffa cake?

Milk in your Bovril?

Tabasco in your porridge?

Hmmmm. Not a big lover of piccalilli if I’m honest.

When I was a kid I used to eat dry weetabix, with butter spread over them and then sugar sprinkled on top. It’s kind of surprising that it took me so long to realise that I have very little sense of taste of food.

So are you anosmic?

Does it effect how you taste spice or strong alcohol?

I’m not totally without taste or smell, but they are very reduced. As I said earlier, I couldn’t tell if milk was going off by smelling it or tasting it, only really if it comes out the bottle in lumps.

I do tend to put spice on a lot of things as it helps give things flavour that would otherwise, to me, just taste the same as many other things.

What caused it or have you always been like that?

Feel free to tell me to **** off, I’m just curious.

It’s no probs. Took me a while to realise, to be honest, as I didn’t know any different. No event that cause it as such, just always been that way.

Buttered weetabix drizzled with golden syrup was a proper treat breakfast when I was a kid.
