I already have the RATM album but I'm not going to play it over the xmas period in case it makes me look like a sheep.
Buying something because of a Facebook campaign is as bad as buying it because it won X-factor.

Completely agree.

Its a shame some people dont see the irony

But still, on top of the £80,000 that the members of the facebook group have donated. Thats 80k that the charity wouldn't have otherw*s* recieved.

If people were that interested in donating money to charity they shouldnt have downloaded the song and instead just given the whole amount to the chairty. :102:

Best Christmas number one ever IMO

(Band Aid first time round really but y'know, this one made me happier)

Oh dear, there is only one winner from this whole debacle, and that would have been the case regardless which of the 2 acts won the number 1 spot.

Considering all and sundry is someone connected to a big four label, they will always win unless it's an artist attached to an indepedent or self-funded label.

What song was the X-Factor winner singing? I take it it was a cover version, seeing as it's a karaoke competition.

It was a cover of Nazi Punks **** Off, by Napalm Death

Never stood a chance, really

"The Climb" by Miley Cyrus.... her version got back into the chart at about number 30... reached number 11 when it was released earlier this year.

Weird song to cover... at least they didn't bastardise a great song though like they did last year.

Probably the most sensible thing you've said all year. Left it late but better late than never! :icon_lol:

Leonard Cohen = true legend.

Heyyyyy I'm always sensible :(

Okay maybe not.

Oh, but the Jeff Buckley version is far superior to Cohen's ;) But obviously Leonard wrote it, so credit to him.

And then there is the Rufus Wainwright effort too, but the original is the best.

I have versions by Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, John Cale, Imogen Heap, Kate Voegele, Gavin DeGraw, Bon Jovi, and U2 on my iTunes....

Buckley wins.

But all are far, far better than the X-Factor version.
