If estimates by experts are accurate that between 50 and 70% of the world's population get Covid-19, that means about 144,000,000 deaths (using 60% of 8,000,000,000 at a mortality rate of 3%).

That seems a lot, doesn't it?

The mortality rate is based on confirmed diagnosed pasients. The estimate includes all those diagnosed and not diagnosed. The real mortality rate is probably approx 0,4%

It'll be lower, which will reduce the positive effect on the planet.

I hope this doesn’t include special secret handshakes.

What a load of old bollocks. It's alright to be in close proximity to a sweaty opponent or teammate who will be breathing all over you but you can't shake hands before the game, does this include at the final whistle too? Then there is the constant gobbing that goes on, how are they going to stop players coming in contact with that?

Exactly...it’s a contact sport ffs! So they can’t have contact now?

Not forgetting the thousands of people in the stands in close proximity to each other. But let’s just worry about 22 players on a pitch!

The world has gone mad.

If they stop the handshakes, they must be worried about players passing the virus between themselves therefore why play the game at all if they are that worried??

Crazy times.

In more lighter virus news, Aussie newspaper prints 8 pages of blank paper as toilet paper shortage takes hold!

This does seem odd to me. None of the symptoms of the disease seem to indicate a need for more toilet visits.
And I say that in the knowledge that Mrs Boc returned from her shopping trip today with an additional two months' supply. No ****ing paracetomol though - all gone!

Sky are reporting that the Premier League are considering banning over-70s from games as the virus spreads. If that's the case Palace would be well ****ed with Roy Hodgson fast approaching his 73rd birthday.

And what would the Birch do with his all his Saturday afternoons?

Edit:
And Friday nights
And Saturday lunchtimes
And Saturday evenings
And Sundays
And Monday nights

Eh?

It's been confirmed that the Wolves game in Athens against Olympiakos next week will be played behind closed doors.

Apparently there is a strong chance that the Italian football season will be cancelled.

We're about 13 days behind Italy in terms of managing this. What is happening in Italy now is coming our way.

I think we've attended our last league game this season at the KP.

The behind closed doors idea won't work (as soon as a player gets it as well as clubs dependent on gate income) so they'll have to either abandon the season or stop the league where it is. Neither work and both would be subject to legal challenge.
