Post Match Derby 2 Leicester 2 (FA Cup)

A Bent OG gave us an early lead. We then decided not to defend, and conceded two before half time.
Wes Morgan scored late equaliser.

Well it was mostly pretty naff, but we improved in the later parts of the second half. Knocking the ball around nicely and looking quite threatening.

It was a good match to watch, we were better second half but still don't know how to unlock defences. Feel for Vardy, he seems to have completely lost the goalpoacher's back at the moment. Mahrez was effective - when they gave him the ball.

Some good runs by Drinky near the end. His long range passing is way off at the moment though. Just pleased we didn't lose for once!

I am struggling to remember a PL team as consistently awful, game after game, in defence as us though. Never one to panic about the window but we so desperately need to strengthen in the defence (stating the obvious I know)

Despite the quality of play and performance I'm fairly happy with that as the fight was back.

I think if we replaced Morgan we'd have a more solid base and a lot of issues go away.

Also I think had Mahrez played as a 10 he could have cut Derby apart when he came on

When Mahrez has played in that role, he's been left wanting

The bigger concern is we still don't know how to defend! Standing off, lack of closing down, switching off, lack of pace at the back, slow, sloppy. The defending needs to improve vastly, and that includes from the midfielders. That second Derby goal was vintage Leicester defending this year - piss poor. Finally nice to see some positives though in that we started playing some football rather than punting hopeless long balls all the time. We are not strong in the air.

Not sure why Ranieri was looking quite so happy at the end. I don't think it was a handball but we were lucky that it wasn't given.

Cannot understand the 'Derby are wank' comments. They played well. Just because they are 12 places below us does not make them a rubbish team.

We mostly played well. Too much in the air instead of on the floor, but that might have been as much as to do with the weather and the playing surface as tactics.

Vardy seems only able to pass balls to the keeper, instead of shooting either side of him.

Okazaki puts in another great shift.

Mahrez made a big difference in the last 10 minutes and setup several good chances.
