Hello everybody.

I have recently purchased an FM transmitter for my MP3 player. This plugs into the headphone slot on the player and transmits the music which is being played at a certain frequency of up to 30 feet.

I tuned into the frequency (106.7fm i think) on my home stereo and it worked fine.

However, when I try to use it in the car, which is why I brought the thing, I come across difficulties.

My car radio has something called Intelligent Scan, which means when I press scan up or scan down, it finds the nearest station. So say I was on one station, to find another I just press scan up or scan down until it finds the right one.

I cannot work out how manually choose the exact frequency in my car radio.

If I could do this, I would be able to play all of my music.

I do not know the make of the car radio, but I have taken a photo:

I would very appreciate it if someone could help me. I am leaving to go on holiday on friday and would like it to be sorted before then.

try holding the scan button down for say 5 seconds this normally makes the radio work in a "manual" mode. then just press the buttons to go up or down.

I've got one and if you scan it normally picks it up.

Btw you know its Illegal!:018::018::018::018:

As Fcukcov says you need to get the tuner into manual mode. Sometimes this is done by holding down both the 'up' and 'down' buttons at the same time.

I thik the law has recently changed - or is in the process of being changed to make it legal to use devices like this.

About to change. There has never been a prosecution for using one of these gadgets.

I suppose it is 'illegal' because you are technically broadcasting without a licence!

I will have another go with the radio tomorrow, and try to get it into manual..

Mine makes a high pitched noise, really hurts my ears after a while. Im going to get a C.d player with an AUX in sometime (when I get a job and can afford it)

I found that too, the FM transmitters are generally a waste of time IMO.
