Trains

It is not possible to get back to Leicester by train after the match.

Those who wish to travel by train and return the following day will find that Travelodge still have Saver rooms available at £26 at their city centre Vicar Lane hotel.
The Saver Return fare is £30.40, but it is possible to save money by buying London to Leeds MML advance tickets at £6 each way, boarding and alighting at Leicester.

Directions

M1 to Junction 43
M621 until you pass the ground on your left. You then need to take the next exit from the motorway and turn left onto the A6110 ring road. Take the next left onto Elland Road for the ground. Just as you go under a railway bridge there are entrances on either side to a couple of very large car parks

About 97 miles - 1¾ hours

Pubs

The best nearby pub for away supporters is said to be the Dry Salters. Anybody know where it is?

Edit: Found it - it's at the far end of Elland Road, the other side of the railway bridge.
Edit again: See post #19 in this thread from Stevie Lynex on the Wing

I'll be there. I should be arriving at Leeds station at 16:22.

And I should be just 40 minutes after you at 17:02.

i'm leaving for this one straight after work with the little lady, probably get to leeds after 7 as we are getting the train

Presumably intending to travel back to Tyneside on either the 22:42 or the 23:42, so you will have plenty of time to buy Webbo and me a drink before you go!

Just been looking at the fares for your journey. Saver return is £40.40 but if you can be sure of getting specified trains you can do the journey for £25 or as little as £19 if you don't mind getting the later train back and changing at York. PM me if you can't find these fares. edit: there's also a way of using any train and only paying £28.40 for the return journey.

Yep I'll go if ya want. I have booked that week off of work today.:038:

The whole week? Are you walking there and back?
:icon_wink

Would you like to tell us where it is?

round the corner from my sisters:icon_lol: cant remember the name of the road to hand but i will have a look when im home tomorrow morning for ya, its only 5 mins from the ground, the old landlord was one of the blokes killed in istanbul unfortunatly and there a nice tribute to him in there, they also knock out good beef cobs before kick off

i think its the 11.42 train we get back, ive booked it for 35ish quid for the two of us, could have been cheaper if she said she had a rail card. yeah a pint sounds good, just let me know where and when

:018: I wouldn't reccomend it, it gets packed full of Leeds yobs.

Thanks for the advice, Stevie. Just shows what a lot of bollocks I read.
:icon_wink

Is there anywhere near the ground that you would suggest?
