As his name keeps cropping up as an aside on various threads, I've been talking to a couple of Bournemouth fans about Max Gradel, and none of them can speak highly enough of him. Maximum effort, flair, pace, and a great eye for goal from unorthadox positions, all whilst playing in a pretty ropey team, and with well documented personal problems that saw him regularly having to travel back to france to look after his siblings.

If ever we needed to get in youngster playing in the blue and white, he's the guy.

It has been reported on FT that Gradel is not happy with the way the club treated him, having said that he still signed a new contract.

The idiot who wouldn't play him has now gone so there shouldn't be a problem. If he doesn't get a look in at the start of next season then he has every right to want out. IMO could have been the difference if he was given a chance last season.

We know he is good quality League 1 so why look anywhere else? :102:

**** him if he wants to leave. Sure, I can see why he may have been frustrated last season not getting a look in with the likes of Hume and Maybury having played on the right and Farmer Giles loaning in half of Europe to play there. But, on the flip side, he is a young player who we loaned out to a team playing at a lower level of football so he could gain some first team experience. By all accounts that went very well so now he will (hopefully) be given a chance in the first team.

David Beckham didn't get pissed off when he was loaned out to Preston or Ashley Cole didn't create a fuss when he was loaned out to Palace. Gradel went away on loan and was succesful and now he should shut up and wait to see what happens. If he is as good as everyone says then we may just have a gem on our hands but as it is, for whatever reason, he has done nothing in a City shirt so let's wait and see shall we.

He was on a season long loan, how exactly could anyone play him bar the Bournemouth manager?

I don't think that was the case. To the best of my knowledge he was at Bournemouth till December initially and Holloway then sent him back for the rest of the season without giving him a chance. The clown promptly played about 8 different people on the RH side of midfield, we were shite and got relegated.

Didn't Holloway send him back to Bournemouth as a favour because they were up the rough in regards to paying players. That and Holloway tried to recall him in March but because the deal was extended till the end of the season, there was no recall clause.

He came back from his loan on January 2nd.
He wasn't available for our next match as he was cup tied, then he was sent back to Bournemouth for the rest of the season.

So he was only with us for around 10 days during the season, and he wasn't available to play during that time.

The club couldn't force him to go out on loan, so if he'd wanted to stay and fight for a place in the team he could have done. But we don't know what was said to him before he went, so maybe he's right to be pissed off. Or maybe he's pissed off for another reason.

Or maybe it's all a load of bollocks and he's happy to stay at Leicester.

Where's it say about Holloway recommending him to be loaned out?!? :icon_roll

There was a local Bournemouth article with Kevin Bond praising Holloway at the same time for continuing Gradel's loan.

Also at the time of signing Bell, Holloway made passing comment that he attempted to recall Gradel but FL rules denied him.

People seem to forgot what shite he had to go through this year and that playing regular first-team football rather than playing in the ressies or sitting on the bench would have been far more fulfilling even in his extraordinary circumstance in France.

Who was the manager!? :102:

Surely you are not suggesting that it was not his decision to put him out on loan?
