Of the realistic names being mentioned I want Wagner, I wanted him last summer and I have been very impressed with what he's done with Huddersfield in the prem

When asked about reports linking him with Leicester, he is reported to have replied, "It's totally easy because I know what the truth is and what isn't," said Wagner. "You have to speak and write about it and I know exactly what the truth is.

"The truth is I have a clear commitment with (chairman) Dean (Hoyle) and I will follow it like I have done last year and this is exactly the same as I'll do this year.

"This is why I can easily deal with it. No problem for me."
[Mockery report]

That would seem to be that then.

well he's hardly going to say he wants a job that a) isn't technically vacant even if everyone assumes the manager will be leaving or b) he hasn't actually been offered

Ranieri has left Nantes. If he's still 50/1 it's worth a punt.

He's strangely being linked with Spurs . . .

  1. Emery
  2. Fonseca
  3. Mancini
  4. Silva
  5. Dyche

My number three was never an option then. He's the Italy manager. My second choice looks to be West Ham bound. My fourth choice is going to Everton.

Shit.

Surely, we are not going to do the same as last summer and sit on our hands and end up not making the obvious decision?

We must be talking to someone - Wagner, maybe? - someone, surely. Surely?!!?

Since we got promotion, our net transfer spend is higher than Spurs and Liverpool and equal to Chelsea. We've got a big old squad and loads of money. Surely, we're not going to run with the clown?

I’m starting to come to the conclusion that he’s staying. It’s a terrifying thought.
