Thought i'd start this one!

Henderson 6; not a great deal to do. Great save in the first half through. The goal seemed a bit soft, i'm not sure whether he could have done better - over end of the ground.

Kenton 6; Did well defensively against a tricky left winger. Not a great deal going toward.

McCarthy; 6 For 80% of the time was great, but prone to making silly mistakes when he's got the ball.

Kisnorbo; 7 MON Won everything. Our best player.

Johan; 6 Defensively good, but if does one of 3 things when he gets the ball - hoofs it, passes to Kisnorbo(90% of the time), and occasionally passes to the winger. Not good enough going forward. Not mobile enough.

Porter; 6 Not bad, but faded. The guys just too small through! A number of times a taller player would have won the ball.

Johnson 7; Best game i've seen him play this season. Great pass for the goal as well.

Weso 6; Added much need energy to the midfeild. Him and Johnson worked well together. Needs a through games through.

Hughes 6; Got involved and did well.

Fryatt 6; Scored at last! Other than that a typical Fryatt performed, constantly running.

COG 7; I really like this guy, worked so hard, won lost causes. Won a lot of headers (which admittely didn't go anyway). Didn't really have a chance. But needs to get in goal scoring positions.

For the first 70 or so mins we were by far the better team. Sunderland got a goal out of nothing which lifted the whole team and fans.

Maybe i'm being a little harsh there. I just can't help remembering in the first half a couple of passes that went astray, and in the second when he mucked around on the ball after getting a pass from Henderson and gave away a free kick.

I'll up it to 6.5, Because he was good.

No, i mean it was so shockedthat McCarthy got as good as a 6

if you'd listened to metro radio (mackem local) you would be giving 10points to budget windows, how can you judge from radio? most of it is "wow, did you see that pigeon" and crap like that

Well pleased with both the display and the result.
I thought our Midfield was the strongest position on the pitch, largely due to Wesolowski but Hughes and Johnson also had much better games. It was probably Levi's worst performance.
I though McCarthy was a bit shit and seemed to take far too long on the ball and tried to do the fancy thing to often instead of clearing the danger.

An improvement, but can we build on it? :102:

Quotes about our players from a Sunderland forum:

"Leicester's no.19. Who is he? Thought the lad was a real handful, best Leicester player on the park today, if not the best player on the park bar none."

"MOTM for me."

"lad with number 19 was called chris o'grady and if im honest best player ive seen at the stadium of light this season loads of energy with strong power and running ! there man of the match if im honest"

"number 4 Darren Kenton, who had an excellent game at right back"

"The little number 27 on the left? played really well. i was as impressed with his performance"

"A sign of today was that we made their ageing (shite) central midfielder look good (Andy Johnson). "
