Turned out to be a poor selection of players and tactics, commence moaning about how poor McGivern and King are.....

Wheels fell off, going down, Pearson out etc.

But yeah, on the positive side at least this will stop the fans moaning about needing 2 wingers as now we have played them and lost to a team we beat without playing them 2 weeks a go.

The worrying thing is that Nige has seemingly insisted that this 'squad' is good enough to secure a play off birth. Whilst we have seen occasional bursts of quality we are struggling to retain consistency. We are still lacking in a number of areas. Right back, creative winger and m/f. Big man to take the load off Matty and score a few goals.

So? Even Barcelona are lacking in certain areas, but it doesn't mean their side isn't good enough. The first half of the season shows our squad very much is good enough to make the top 6.

Losing away to Swansea is no reason to panic.

Plenty of points in the prediction league at least.

first time we have not scored for 12 games, since we played the sheep in October

Talkingballs just got a mention on the radio Leicester

Berth.
Unless you're anticipating the bastard child of Fyatt and Kermit?

I find it funny how players like Howard, Wellens and Neilson are dropped and people harp on about what a good team selection it was... before we get beat. For me the ideal line up would be:

WEALE

NEILSON HOBBS MORRISON BERNER

N'GUESSAN KING WELLENS DYER

FRYATT HOWARD

Gallagher is well over rated, McGivern is just poor and Oakley plays better in the middle than he does out wide (but I think King and Wellens is a better central pairing).

With Berner out injured I would prefer we had Powell in at left back until he returns.

I think we definately need some strengthening if we are serious about going up this year, there are players in the premiership that aren't getting a look in at the moment that we would have a chance of bringing in. I keep going on about Kevin Phillips but I think he would be an ideal addition to start with.

I suspect that NP knows that we are some way off ready for the Premiership. Obviously, he cannot say so but, if he really thought that we were there, or there abouts, he would be snapping Milan's hand off at these newspaper promises of backing.
I genuinely believe that the best thing for our long term success would be more Championship experience for the likes of Morrison, Hobbs and King plus, if we can get past the fifty point safety mark with games left, try out some of the other young lads and then, a couple of shrewd purchases in the summer.

The reason we won't be in the play off's come the end of the season is because we don't score anywhere near enough goals.

Teams in the lower half of the table have scored more than us.

Very little cutting edge in this team.

NP says 'players worked hard, but a frustrating day and we can play better than that'

NP on RL said it will be nice to get Max back on Monday

We can't afford to risk it though. Teams like Sheffield United and Cardiff have been "building" towards the Premier League for years.

Saying we can have another year for experience is all well and good, but this league is too volatile, you have to take the chance while you have it.

Frustrating, we made it frustrating, first shot on target in the 89th minute.

Also how much longer will Gallagher be allowed to take corners for? He coudn't beat a ****ing egg.

We have the same goals to game ratio that Birmingham had last year and they finished 2nd. :102:

I take your point, but I was not suggesting that we purposely lose games, I meant to imply that, whatever we do (within realistic bounds), we will not be able to stick with Newcastle, WBA, Forest and one or two slightly lesser teams over 46 games.

The difference being that Birmingham had that goal to game ratio at the end of the season not half way through it.

We seem to be leaving our decent form behind and conceding more than we are scoring, so how much longer do you think we will match Birminghams record?

In our last 5 games, we have won 3, drew 1 and lost 1.

Including outplaying 2 play-off hopefuls, and our 1 loss also to a play-off hopeful.

I don't think we are leaving our decent form behind us at all.
