Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded summer 2023 rumours thread - it's started already!

Rumours were appearing over the weekend of us being interested in Danny Ings.

I'd be a bit torn on that... On the one hand, I'm sure he'd score a hatful in the Championship.

But on the flip side, I think if we have Jamie Vardy and a 31 year old Danny Ings leading our line next season, coupled with the signings we've made so far, I'd be worried we're not exactly setting ourselves up for sustained success if we get promoted.

I'm fine with the current signings, but I'm hoping the next couple we get in will be younger with more potential coming up.
Let’s concentrate on the job in hand for now which is the Championship. The two players we have signed have Premier League experience and could do a job up there too. If we also sign players just with the objective of doing well in the Championship, good.

Ings is made of glass, he is a great finisher but always injured so no doubt we will give him a 4 year contract @ £75k with no clauses

I'd argue that our previous success, as well as the success of Brighton, Brentford, etc., is built around having a clear style of play that is all-encompassing across the club, including throughout our scouting and signings.

So that means that the club is not dependent on one or two individuals, as they can be more easily replaced.

With that in mind, plus the obvious challenge of "let's just get back up first", I am happy signing players for the here and now.

Thailand national team forward Suphanat Mueanta is en route to becoming Leicester City's newest player.

Bit quiet.

Castagne must be close to done.

Now Rice is confirmed with Arsenal that might knock some other things loose, especially related to Barnes.

Absolutely no sign of Ndidi. Thought someone would definitely take a punt on him.

Judging from his social media he's not even returned to training

Noticed that too. Could be a logical explanation (Nigeria played on June 18 and I haven’t seen Nacho either).

But, I have a sneaky feeling Wilf could be a bit of a headache for the club this summer. Stripped his socials of any reference to the club and appears to be away from the training centre.

Pretty sure none of those who were involved in internationals were due back with the others.. Castagne, Kristiansen, Ndidi, Ihenacho, Faes. Souttar wasn’t due back but came back early.

Might be putting 2 and 2 together and making 17 with him not being back in training.

He was a ****ing headache for us last season having completely forgotten how to play football.
