Poor performance but a valuable point away from home.
I personally think Shakespeare needs to go but I am willing to give him a few more games. Perhaps we just need a win in order to gain some confidence.
Finally, the big big problem for me is the lack of quality in central midfield. We have lost Kante and Drinkwater and replaced them with nobody. Is Silva the saviour?

At least he would command respect.
Briefly looked like we might be capable of scoring a goal when we had a front four of Gray, Mahrez, Nacho and Vardy. That's potentially quite a potent front line.
For the other 89 minutes it was just terrible. The hoof ball is embarrassing. The total lack of desire to win the game was criminal.
If Shakespeare can't get the players fired up then he's pointless because he's got no tactics nous whatsoever. And on today's evidence the players are about as fired up as a dead jellyfish.
Today was almost as bad as Swansea last season. In fact, it probably was just as bad, but we were lucky to be playing a team as shit as Bournemouth.
No idea who replaces him, but the caretaker isn't the man to take us forward.

We are not as bad as we were last season, no chance. We aren't good but I honestly believe we are so lacking in central midfield, we can't function as a team.
Incidentally, I actually think Ndidi is playing reasonably well. He is covering so much ground and closing down the opposition constantly. He desperately needs help. For those of you saying that his passing is poor, his pass completion today was 81% which is statistically quite good.

Well I remember watching that Swansea game and we couldn't even get in the opposition box. Despite hanging on today we could have snatched it a couple of times.

Performance worse than the result it seems - and the result is only okay (point away at Bournemouth not a nightmare).
I don’t think Shakey should be sacked yet but he has to try to something new because it’s not working. Dropping our best creative player isn’t it.
Try a new system, adapt the style because we’re just trying the same over and over.
As I said I don’t think he should be sacked yet, but I also think the Silva shambles will Work in his favour too as we don’t have a proper central midfield and it gives him some excuse (as that’s not his fault) - but it is up to him to try and find a solution for it. Ie play 3 in midfield or defence to make us more solid through the middle in the meantime.

It's not often there are no positives in any performance no matter how awful but I can't find a single one in that. In fact, it asks even more questions. Has Ndidi really become that shit in such a short time? Is Iborra a football player or have they sent us the kit man and nobody has checked? Has Andy King even seen a football match?
Our midfield is just killing us. The defence are not to blame for the most part (well, the CBs at least). They are under immense pressure game after game because the centre of midfield crumbles everytime the ball comes near them. Vardy has absolutely nothing to feed on at all so we can't really point the finger at the attackers either. We gave Gray another chance today and he strolled around in the first half like the world owed him a living. Albrighton has gone backwards as a player so rapidly he's going to need parking sensors soon. Mahrez looked like he couldn't pass a ball when he came on either but at least he tried to create something and run at them (before losing the ball).
I'd be tempted to drop Okazaki back into a central midfield 3 with Ndidi and one of the other useless ****ers with him. That would leave Vardy a little isolated but at least we wouldn't be carved open so easily time after time and Okazaki may look to get the ball forwards instead of sideways, backwards or to the opposition as has been the trend of late.

We are not as bad as we were last season on the whole, I agree. Today's game in isolation however was the poorest we have been for a very long time.

I agree. Last season at Swansea we looked dead and buried. At present I still feel we may have enough quality to scramble enough points together.

Appointing Shakespeare was the easy option. A gesture that appeared more to do with loyalty - keeping the old guard happy (last season's snakes) and to show the club could appoint from within.
It's gone horribly wrong. The performances have been considerably worse than the results would suggest. He's out of his depth, he knows it the players know it, he's mimicking a good coach trying to be a Premier league manager.
Sadly we've wasted a fantastic opportunity to become an establised team, and continue that fearless identity whilst challenging for Europe. The reasons are many and Shakey is only one.
Would love to see him turn the performances around and the results follow, but that seems too remote. He needs to go before the rot sets in. No idea who should come in, or what they'd do with THAT midfield.
