It was the Ipswich game that we should of won. In this league we need to win all home games and pick up away points here and there. This result looks worse because of last week.
I would be amazed if we don't end up bringing in a defender in the window. NP now knows that Nielson isn't up to it and we are really stretched at the back unless we use kids. Basically if Tunch isn't coming back in the next month we defo need more defensive cover.
Okay i take it back, 3 goals = shite defence. This is now going to be a real test of NP's influence as our morale is going right on the slide. Eight goals in two games is mad.
If we scored some goals ever so often our poor defence would be allowed the odd off game. I'm not going to slag the defence off as clearly the 6 lads in front of them cant even spell gaol!!!
More mobility in our full backs but Brown is still very slow between them.
I don't like Fryatt being on the bench as regardless of his most recent form he is still our most consistent scorer.
I've just seen the forest goals and am convinced we got done over by pace. As we look at our existing defence they all look rather slow and cumbersome. I can't believe how far Brown tried to back off for the third goal - he was nearly in the net by the end. The midfield also offered little cover...
Good words mate. We are a useful side but will have bad days here and there. If we hadn't conceded last week we'd still be third at the end of the day. Move on lads and accept it as a poor day at the office.
Still worry about our absence of goals.
I knew Brown and the defence would get shown up eventually as they have zero pace. Hey ho, hopefully this will knock any complacency out of our squad. I know we can blame the defence but again we are not scoring either.
I think our current position is absolutely amazing and is testament to the strides forward we have made. We didn't spend a fortune in the summer so are in essence a developing team with the same personnel. Lets enjoy it lads we now know we are capable of beating anybody in this league and that...
Just back from the match - fecking brilliant. So so impressed with the whole team performance. Stand outs were:
Fryatt - movement, skills and control top rate.
Wellens - Absolute class - best centre mid since Lennon.
Brown - I was with 6 mates who were all neutral and they all thought the...
i think it realistic to imagine Pearson will go for a defensive line - up i.e. no proper wingers. Perhaps berner could be brought in to strengthen the side - but overall i expect very few changes from Monday.
I think Pearson has now told the strikers you will all get part of the game so he...
I'm gobsmacked. Perhaps he could be an extra step towards the play offs and promotion. He might be a bit slow these days, but surely his class would dominate the middle of the park.
I will believe it when i see it though. Watch hulll, wigan and the like come in now.
I'd be amazed if Pearson doesn't get linked within the next few days. He is building a very good reputation and is ex Boro. At the very least some hack will put 2 and 2 together?
More importantly my first child is due on Boxing day. I am now unsure how the Sky schedule will marry with my partners contractions. Answers on a post card!!
At the start of the season when he first came he looked very useful - under Mad Dog's short reign. As the season and Leicester imploded he just suffered like most of us.
Anyone who doesn't think a fully fit Clemence will be useful addition to our squad must be deluded about what quality lies...
I fancy we will either show our metal tonight and bounce back well or i fear a tonking ahead.
I would be inclined to play Dyer on one flank and a very narrow holding midfield alongside (Wellens, Oakley, King or Adams). To be honest i think the most important decision is to have a mobile defence...
Actually i saw Kerrera Gilbert play last Tuesday night for the Gunners as i got cheap tickets for the Carling Cup. He looked perfectly comfortable against West Brom, although not spectacular in any way.
Not sure what arsenal's plans are re him as i thought for his development he needs to be...
To be honest i've just seen the goals on the highlights and i can't say either was Nielson's fault. But it also appeared like we had a few chances that we should have scored and that would have changed the game. Defenders always get stick, but if your 2 nil up you can afford a slip up.
We lost...
Quite right. AK is definately talented but he plays like a poor mans Michael Carrick. He saunters around and when we are in possession he can be good with the ball. However in football you are not always in possession and need to graft and work to get and use the ball. We were too strong for...
clearly our record is woeful against them. Time to change that then!!
Don't think Preston have had a great team in recent years but they are always hard to beat. I think they are well drilled and work hard for each other.
With this in mind is the 'oh so casual' Andy King going to be a weak...
I think we have to believe we can win all our home games. That said Preston are a useful team so we will have to perform well to get the result. I may have my stats wrong but i recollect we do not have a great record against them?
To be honest if he's touch and go his injury can't be all that bad. They wont risk him for Preston, but it sounds like he'll be back next week though. Not bad result then.
I think in fairness NP had to remain loyal to Brown and Hobbes as they did start the season well. I suspect the manner in which we conceded 3 yesterday will now present him with the opportunity to make the change now.
Common sense says an International class centre half will surely bring more...
Feck DJ, am i the only one who is gobsmacked to hear Clemence is still playing football. I was sure he'd retire any day soon - but like a phoenix from the flames he has been resurrected.
Now that would be a useful centre mid addition.
I'm all up for strengthening the squad, but do we really need aanother left back and is he going to get much game time? People have been singing Berners praises this year.
