great stuff. good to see dyer back on the scoresheet. a win when a draw would perhaps have been the fairest result.
Pearson will have to be manager of the month for January too. Undefeated in the league again. 15 games unbeaten now, which is stupendous.

Still squad work to do though before the window closes on Monday. A striker needed Meelan, which will see us through.

actually 16 unbeaten.

The confidence in the squad must be sky high.great to see the heads don't drop when we go behind....

How did the midfield do Today?

Hadn't really noticed how Millwall had two games in hand, and were therefore potentially only 5 points behind us before kick off if they won them both - so nice to see them slipping to defeat and opening up that gap as well.

Boring bloody game, and freezing. Game seemed to bypass the midfield all game, and when it didn't it was with head tennis type play.

Oh and Cleverly had a very good game today, particularly second half. And it seems we took a good helping of ***** with us, the same twats I mentioned last season were stood on the steps all first half next to me hurling abuse at the stewards (who were very patient) every time they tried to ask them to return to their seats. No doubt had they been kicked out we would be hearing about how they were just standing there and the cops were arresting innocent people again.

if we win 12 of our last 18 games we will finish on a hundred points. that would be quite an achievement and given our last 18 games isn't impossible. a quality striker is going to be needed for sure though. we have good cover everywhere but there....

We didn't have any cover for the midfield today with Berner out, but had two players to cover up front, to me that means we need the opposite.

It might be Division 3 but don't Saturdays feel so much better these days? Excellent grinding out of a result today and tees us up nicely for the the visit to the Bescott Stadium on Tuesday..and I'm coming across for the match!! :icon_bigg

You have to go back 8 years to find anyone failing to go up on 86 points.

If it hadn't been for their points deduction Leeds would have finished second on 91 points last season.

If we assume the teams below us continue to get the same points per game as they have done so far, Millwall and MK would both finish with 88/89 points.

in midfield we've got oakley, cleverley, dyer, king, gradel, berner and adams (out on loan but by no means cast aside). in an ideal world we'd have one extra player of quality for the squad to cover centre mid but we do have individual players that could slot in for one another. ie Oakley injured then Gradel plays right wing. Dyer injured - Mattock, Gradel or Porter covers. King or Cleverley injured - then Oakley or Berner moves inside.

up front we have fryatt and howard with hayles, dickov, chambers and dj campbell (loaned out) to back up. None of the resrve strikers could cover 10 game absence of Howard, and so that is the most pressing problem we have to deal with before the end of Monday's transfer window IMO.
