I was interested to watch the Everton v Wolves game earlier. Probably the two most likely candidates along with us to push into the top six.
Wolves won't finish top half in my opinion. On reflection, we played them at the worst time possible. They are unable to play their first choice team now and they'll be knackered by Xmas. No threat from them. They look leggy already.
Everton do look a lot more likely. They've definitely got plenty of quality but they do look dodgy defensively. Almost exactly the same as West Ham in fact. Good going forward, okay in midfield, shite at the back.
Palace have started well but they just don't have the goals in their team to sustain a challenge. I haven't seen anything from anyone else to suggest another side could push us.
As for the top six, the obvious two are clear of the rest by miles. I'll watch Arsenal v Spurs now but they're both teams with some quality players and some real deficiencies. Both are better than either Man Utd or Chelsea though who I cannot see finishing above us, unless we underachieve.
Our next two games are massive (Man Utd away and Spurs at home). If we're still unbeaten after those, I'm thinking the top four might be our realistic aim rather than top six.
