Would you go to the gym at 3am then? Who's to say you have to go for a run at 3am? Spring and summer are just around the corner so the good weather is a great chance to get out and about for a jog every now and then. At the end of the day I don't care what you do, I'm just offering some advice :icon_lol:

I already do go out running and cycling in the spring and summer all the time, but it's a bit of a pain in the early hours of winter mornings.

I don't want to go out running at 3 a.m. in the middle of winter and the level of quality of equipment at gyms is far better. Also, if nothing else, it just gives me somewhere to go when no one else is about in the early hours of the morning.

I was going to suggest you try going to bed instead at that time but it sounded like a cheesy chat up line :icon_redf

In all seriousness though, I do shiftwork, so sometimes 3am is the middle of the day for me.

Running on tarmac is bad for your joints.

I find running on treadmills is worse...

I have some kit at home, but find it much easier to focus and motivate myself in the gym. It's more sociable too.

But I prefer running outside to going on the treadmill... although not so much in the middle of the night/when it's feckin' freezing.
