Reporter: Why did you leave Andy King out?
Puel: He is a lovely boy, you know.
Repoter: Yes, but why did you leave him out?
Puel: He's still training really well with the lads. Did I say what a lovely boy he was?
Reporter: Are you going to tell us why you left out Andy King?
Puel: He might go out on loan in January, we will see. He's a cracking boy.

He may as well have just sat there and hit a wok with a wooden spoon for all the help that gave us in understanding his reasoning.

He's a smashing bunch of lads

And what does he gain by answering? just because you want him to doesn’t mean he has to

I think that it's sad that you think that way.

I think that it is the responsibility of the figurehead of the club to answer questions that are of genuine interest to supporters. The question he was asked about King was a perfectly reasonable one. But Puel never answers anything. The owners never answer anything. Rudkin or Whelan never answer anything.

All we get are puff pieces on the website or 'matchday magazine' that read like they've been completely made up by students.

Yesterday, he was even asked whether Maguire's new contract had a release clause in it and he refused to answer that too. It was only when journalists present said that they'd make a story out of him not answering that the club clarified that there wasn't a clause.

I'm amazed that any journalists bother going to the club seeking information at all any more.

Pretty much every club works in the same way though.

Surely it's obvious the reason he left King out? Because he thinks he has other better options, which makes King surplus to requirements.

Whether we agree or not (he should be in there ahead of James), there's no doubt thats the reason.

And I agree with Skitzo, what does he gain by answering and publicly declaring that he doesn't think King is good enough?

I still can’t believe he’s effectively behind James in the pecking order, though. I like James as a player and he appears to be a good lad, but King should be ahead of him and I don’t think you need to be a Premier League manager to reach that conclusion. Baffling and not surprising that it warrants questioning.

Do people really think that the Manager shouldn't be commenting on this ?

The Club's longest serving player, a winner at every tier as we have progressed upwards, and part of the Premier League winning squad, is not considered to be a better back up player right now than Matty feckin' James, FFS

And that kind of pure feckwittery doesn't warrant an explanation or challenge ?

What is wrong with you ?

For some people it appears that questioning or challenging anything that the Club or Manager does is like some sort of treason, regardless of how completely feckin' stupid the decision or act might be, and you are not a true fan unless you sit back and simply accept everything that happens or everything that you are told. It's bizarre

****ing hell you lot are soft.

He's not in the 25 because he's nowhere near good enough to play in the PL.

Seriously, just because he's taken a wage from the club longer than anyone else it doesn't mean anything.

Were you all so upset when Conrad Logan wasn't involved?

I agree that he’s not good enough to play in the Premier League. But neither is Matty James. King should have been in the squad ahead of James as he isn’t made of glass.

In reality, it doesn’t matter which one is in the squad, because neither would play as they’ll be fifth choice at best (sixth if behind Choudhury).

But mentioning Andy King in the same breath as Conrad Logan. Wow. Just wow.

Clearly I'm not comparing ability or status with fans, but the status of both players in terms of squad position is exactly the same.

A player doesn't make the squad just because he's been here forever.

Andy King, irrelevant of his current quality, is a club legend. It’s entirely reasonable for the club to have treated the communication of this better with the fans.

For better or worse it only strains Puels relationship with skeptical fans a little bit more.
