Looked tidy when I watched him against Derby, but that was admittedly a very limited view. Sven clearly rates him as Oakley hasn't really had a sniff since he took over.

Ahem, he's been injured, though it is down to him to impress Sven on the training pitch and/or take advantage of any poor performances by the other midfielders to get back into the side.

Have we had an opinion from BF, Cate and the others yet as to how his arse compares to Oakleys?

Everyone seems really keen on him. I haven't seen him apart from his ten minute headless chicken debut against Cardiff. It'd be nice for the ex-pats to get a bit of perspective.

Is it a case of being relieved because we thought he was a real turkey but it turns out he's OK? Or does he look genuinely brilliant, could step up to the Premier League no problem?

Well... Against Hull I thought he was 'ok', deffo better than a turkey. Against PNE I thought he looked genuine quality. I wasn't at the sheep massacre alas, but yesterday I thought he was different class. Great engine, covers the midfield, protects the back four and always looked to get the ball away to feet. He does the simple things really really well. His work-rate allows Wellens and King much more space supporting Howard.

Abe looks Premiership class to me.

From what we know of Sven he will have already thought of a solution (and a Plan B) for the Abe problem.

If not I will be prepared to be shot at for two possible but deliberataly controversial solutions:
Davies as defensive midfield with Morrison or Vitor partnering Hobbs.
Moreno as defensive midfield. At the end of the match against Sunderland I was telling people how well I thought Moreno played and I would like to see him again.

Of course one of the downsides of having Sven as manager is that you feel uncomfortable giving him advice. I never felt that problem with Sousa.

I suppose once Abe is away, we will see what Sven really thinks of Oakley/Moreno.

Has Moussa featured much under Sven? From what I can recall he did early on - for Sven's first couple of games and has slipped off the radar a bit since?

Another solution which Sven might look at (especially away from home where we seem to struggle a bit) is to change the system entirely - maybe going 5 at the back and 4 in midfield, or a 4-4-2.

That would solve two problems:

1) Which three to put in midfield in Abe's absence (just play 2 in the centre)
2) Striker wouldn't be so isolated. I like Fryatt in a 4-4-2?

Since you go to both home and away matches you will have seen more of Moreno than I have and I have to accept nobody else seems to rate him. I also accept Powell in his one match in charge and Sven since then have not picked him that I have probably overrated him on the basis of one friendly.
As Moreno was regarded as such a big Sousa signing it is a reminder of how poor a manager he was.

Well, I was referring to the fact that Moreno didn't play in that game. But I'll answer the question anyway. The second half against Macclesfield aside, he's been appalling. Utterly, truly awful. At Leeds, it was as if he wasn't even playing. We would have been as well fielding the winner of a raffle held on Fox Travel on the way to the game. On current evidence, he appears to be the worst midfielder we've had since Junior Lewis, who you may remember was absolute dogshit.

What about Andy Johnson. At least there was an air of comedy about Junior Lewis galloping around the pitch (always in the direction of the ball).
