If the Swiss argue today is before the deadline then you'd have to agree that it is still August. Their superior timepiece is likely to be correct.

Either way its a balls up, if we had sent everything in time I'm sure we would have appealed if it's FA they should sort it, although SKY are saying Silva may make his own appeal, which probably means he had signed in time and someone made mess.

A Leicester City spokesman said: “It was our intention to submit an application to the Court of Arbitration for Sport for expedited proceedings so that the matter could be resolved as quickly as possible. However, it has been made clear to us that FIFA will not support an expedited process, forcing the Club to reluctantly accept the single-judge ruling of FIFA’s Players’ Status Committee without reasonable opportunity for independent arbitration that is timely enough to be effective.

“Our frustration at the denial of effective due process doubles our disappointment at the original outcome and while the Club is now essentially powerless to continue to challenge the decision, we will continue to support Adrien in any personal appeal he wishes to undertake.

“We intend to register Adrien at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, he will remain under our care, training with the squad under the supervision of our coaching, medical and sport science staff.”

By not going to CAS saves the club from possible further embarrassment, i hope that Silva going it alone is a tactic agreed with the club as best option and not that he is pissed off

I doubt that the club would have wanted any sort of hearing which would have gone into the public arena. The episode has been damaging to Leicester City and more so to Silva. If Rudkin was the accountable officer then in any normal business he would have to depart. Leicester City is of course anything but 'normal'.

We ****ed up by waiting until we’d sold Drinkwater when we should have just signed Silva at the start of the window
