So to sum it up so far, we need someone with the combined abilities of MON, Jock Wallace, Little, Pearson, Ranieri, Simeone and some.

Was all for Shakey getting the job, but the longer this drags on the more doubts I have as to whether he is the right man for the job long time. For me this little cycle has come to an end and therefore we need a strong manager with strong fresh ideas to build the next chapter of our great club. For me we need somebody like a Jock Wallace or Brian Little type who will come in with a blue print and move on the deadwood and take the club forward. Who that man is I don't know but I do doubt it is Shakespeare.

Or we could get a manager who comes in and spunks 80 million on journey men players and we end up like stoke/WBA, or we could stick to the blue print that brought us success, good recruiting and the willingness to give young untried talent a crack.

A very good point. When it is put like this I am all for more Wilfed Ndidi's coming through.

Is that sure to work then?

the 80m might bring us in world beaters and we win the league by 11 points.

It might also bring us a couple of duds not worth the money and lazier than Carl Cort.

For feck's sake.

We ignore a man who has 13 trophies in management and keen to come back to the Premier League for a coach desperately trying to remember what his predecessors used to do in any given situation.

Perhaps we did approach him but he went for the easier option of guaranteed trophies in Russia. He does seem the type.

Well there's my preferred option down the shitter. Shakespeare it is then, forgive me for my lack of optimism but once all his buddies have flown the coop I expect we'll be looking for another new manager.

I'd still throw loads of money in Wagner's direction and see if he'll come. Will be difficult now that Huddersfield are in the PL though.

Top, top manager.

It worked with Pearson and with Ranieri when we won the league, yes the players were established however the vast majority were unknown and recruited well, it took 3-4 seasons to get to this point. I agree 80+ could strengthen the side and we could win the league however most other sides will do the same IMO. The reason we have done so well is the fact that they didn't see us coming.

That's what bigmac said. We really have no idea.

The thing is though, it's so easy to say that we should recruit well. I presume we thought we were "recruiting well" last summer, but that was a disaster.
