Well done to Andy King you deserve it !

I think that King is one of those quiet players that just gets on with the job he was outstanding in so many games last season , ok he made a few dud passes, but scored some brilliant goals which more than makes up for it ,on the whole he has been an asset to the team , nice to see him get his call up :038:

I find it incredible to believe that there are still 'fans' so fickle that they would criticise a player who not only proves his worth with goals - a very rare and much needed asset in any midfielder - but who has been an absolute stalwart in the side pretty much season long. This mentality seems to me abhorrent and, unfortunately, it seems to be an attitude that fans of this club in particular have in abundance. Andy King can't win. If he performs like a true playmaker, breaking play up, distributing the ball and scoring vital goals, he is chastised for not tackling well. Throughout our history we've had this disease running through our terraces - a lack of support or a willingness to get behind every single one of those 11 who play week in week out for us. It's time I think to rid ourselves of it.

I find it difficult to believe that you or any one else might think otherwise. City fans in my experience of 36 years of following City have always been like that and it has got worse again recently due to any number of players just turning up for the money.

That said it is difficult to disagree with the sentiment of the post. :icon_wink

Great post - I agree with you 100%. If someone had said last season that an academy player would really break into the team, play almost every game and score 10+ goals then everyone would have been salivating at the prospect.

I can't even remember the last time a good prospect came out of the academy, scored a load of goals and then got called up to his national side all in his first full season!

I think hes had an excellent season, and by far our most improved player. For a midfielder to get into double figures is clearly a great achievement and i think he is a great distributor as well, he may not be the greatest tackler of the ball, but hes a midfielder thats not exactly his job.

Great to see a City international :038::038::038:
