OK, perhaps I should have said " he's come through the ranks ". Anyroada, it's our coaching staff, I would say, that have made him a first team player, and a pretty significant one as well, in my view.
There's nothing to tell. The club has made it clear that 'fringe players' can go. You can safely understand from that that other players will not be allowed to go. (League tables already up)
It's possible that some players look at the message boards and in that case the comments about King which are unfair and negative are not helpful to the club's currently much brighter prospects.
I'm all in favour of freedom of speech, but there is a strand of views that unduly knocks young players.

It is nonsense to believe that a player would take heed of what is said about them on an internet message board rather than listen to the support of the manager and coaches at the club.
It's interesting to hear your opinion however, particularly in view of your earlier and well-documented "sing when we're winning" attitude. Do you think players might have taken any notice of that?

I hope they do read and take note (can they all read?). It would show that they cared and would probably mean that they were getting good reviews anyway.

Sorry to see that the Festive Season doesn't seemed to have dulled your capacity for gratuitous offensiveness.
I realise that you see yourself as some sort of grandee in this forum but may I remind you that it is normal etiquette to attack the post rather than the poster.....yes and before you remind me, I do realise that I have responded directly at you on the basis that the exception sometimes proves the rule.

They read it once; they laughed uncontrollably; they didn't read it again. Do you seriously think that they have anything to learn from what is written on here?
Possibly I am being a little too simple for you to understand Melton, but I would make the distinction between acid criticism when things are going badly and a likeable but out of his depth manager was out of his depth....and this season when the team is doing splendidly.
As you are aware, Mr Holloway didn't need any help from me - or for that matter you - to get us relegated. In fact had he heeded our comments then it is highly unlikely we would be currently in this division.

I'm not sure how you choose to distinguish between an attack on a post and an attack on a poster. I was clearly disagreeing with that which you wrote in your post - if you choose to interpret that as an attack on you, that is your choice.
I am pleased to note that Melton also is confused with your varying attitudes towards people criticising the club and its personnel on this forum.

OK, now that you have chosen to be more civil, here goes:
In my view, the cumulative weight of views expressed through all the sections of the media do have an impact; if you will they create a climate which impacts on those involved in the game.
It is difficult to assess the weight of that impact with any precision although there are extreme instances when the impact has been obvious - e.g. the abuse laid on Bloomfield towards the end of his last season with us & the partially racist inspired abuse aimed at Mark Bright.
I was extremely critical last season because it was clear to me that the wrong personnel were taking the club into an abyss. I am supportive this season because Pearson and the team are doing fine and added to that Mandaric is alsoappearing to being very supportive in a variety of different ways e.g. making the deal which we hope can still keep Fryatt at The Walkers. I am very straightforward I praise when things are being done right - I criticise when it's obvious to me that the strategy is way off track.
