Fair play to the boy.

For me, he's a bit of an enigma - spends the large majority of the game wandering around on the fringes of the action, yet still somehow seems to be involved in many of the decisive moments - and that is a priceless asset to have.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if higher level sides were taking a serious look at him - goalscoring midfielders generally are highly sought, and he appears to have the knack (despite other obvious reservations).

This from our favourite site. :icon_bigg :icon_wink

I'm a youth coach at Leicester City.
I have it on good authority that Leicester midfielder Andy King is on the verge of a £800,000 move to West Ham during the January transfer window. The only delay in the transfer is that as part of the deal, Leicester will be recieving Lee Bowyer in a player plus cash deal. The Leicester board are not willing to meet his high wage demands. If he doesn't accept the proposed wages offered by Leicester, which are around 40% less than he is currently being paid at West Ham, then the deal may be called off.

If all goes according to plan, then expect to hear this news within a matter of days into the transfer window.

I would be amazed if King left yet. But I would also be amazed if many clubs in the higher echelons of our league system weren't having him closely watched.

I cannot see the comparison with Davies who is a Wolves player on loan from a higher division to get match fitness. Andy King did well enough to force his way into the team during the pre-season and kept his place against more experienced players such as Kishishev and Weso. He also has am extraordinary goal scoring record for a young midfielder. If he can be ever present in a team that in topping the table then in League One terms he has to be a good player. What is more at his age he is likely to get a lot better.

Quite.

The fact is that some of the inputs on here are based on sheer brute ignorance.....it's a bit like some car drivers who display psychotic behaviour once behind the wheel...but are perfectly ok people at other times.

Money talks, Alex. He has certainly created some interest from others.

Money talks - but I am sure that MM's "fringe players can go" statement should also be interpreted as meaning that players who are not part of the fringe will not be going anywhere.

Andy King is not going anywhere in this window - and Lee Bowyer does not seem at all the kind of player who Pearson would see as being able to take the current squad forward.

Ominous words from the sage Bob Hazell.

It's a fact of life - teams will always look at young players that are making an impact, although King is not the finished article by any means. MM wants to get out of this league, and hopefully the Championship next year. You don't do that by selling your better prospects. Even dear old MM recognises this. Unless someone comes in with absolutely silly money ( which I doubt ) I surmise Mr King will be with us for some time yet.

I agree.

The only way any of our first teamers will be leaving is if crazy money is offered - 800k is way short of crazy. I expect that at least half a dozen of our better players will prob receive bids in the window, but i suppose thats the price of doing well. If we flog any of Tunch, Howard, Oakley, Fryatt, Dyer, King, Mattock for peanuts i van only assume Milan has lost it or is as broke as Wooleys.

try going to a game and seeing for yourself, or is it too cold for someone of your age?

I can't imagine why you thought my comparison between road rage and some postings was in any way directed at you . I have always found your posts to be reasoned, balanced and even emollient

I was going to go to a game some weeks ago then was persuaded to spend a week in the sun instead. I do intend to change my pre-season position and will go to more than the one home fixture which looked to me like some sort of football fixture .

Thanks for your concern about my extreme age and the cold.....yes as a fair weather supporter, I confess that I'm not likely to risk pneumonia to watch the likes of Hereford in near sub-zero conditions - partly because I still need to work for a living. But I'm always there in spirit BG.

You mean present participle. The verb is to toss. :icon_wink

"to toss" is the infinitive: which, like the present participle, is a form of the verb
