I think it was more HF than an adopted persona. There were times when he was more upbeat and his posts were quite different. Before he left they were downbeat for a considerable amount of time.

For me that was more about his personality and circumstances and less about any issue with this board which looks trivial to say the least in the big picture.

Having spoke to him after he left I can confirm it was those pedants who drove him away.

Similarly though, whilst you shouldn't take HF's misery as serious a lot of the pedantry can be equally ignored and put down to joking and tom-foolery.
