6 mill parachute payment + 3 mill connoly sale generated a 1.6mill profit, 9 mill - 1.6mill = 7.4 million this was posted.

Then after some debate (during the takeover stuff) a few including the foxes trust confirmed annual losses would be around this amount and was why club so desperate for investment.

Conveniant to forget stuff I guess when it makes it easier to put down the current chairman.

Also the shareholders recieved a report prior to the sale giving reasons to go ahead and one of them was expected losses over the next year, it was detailed on this report. Anyone here who is a shareholder or who knows one and seen the report will know what I am talking about.

Dont bother asking me which shareholder(s) I know because I wont say I am not going to get myself into trouble by naming names for the sake of satisfying some people on a forum.

End of the day some people still have sour grapes because they havent got anything for their shares yet.

Nonsense.

If our annual wage bill was still the £12 million we were paying a few years ago maybe we'd have losses at that level, but it was reduced to less than half that much after the Prem contracts ended.

Can you find the post when the FT said losses would be around £7 million a year, or did you make that up?

It's okay Chrsalis, yyou have nothing to worry about.

an ex city player still lives in our village, and I was told just before MA left, and was told that a lot of the players disliked MA WITH A PASSION, so this theory seems about right. It might have been one of several problems with the cockney git

tbh if players didn't like MA didn't bother me, as long as they did what he asked of them as a manager will do of his players. You don't have to like someone to not deo as they say IF it is a progression of what went on before.
Though I'm sure a lot of the players didn't like the pre-season training regime he had in place,I reckon they did more work this pre-season than they did last season altogether!

No she didn't! :icon_lol:
She told you to cop on to yourself & stop talking rubbish, paraphrasing I know but you get the gist.

I'm sorry you are wrong. Innocent totally backed what I said -"yes that's exactly what it means.." direct quote. I cannot be bothered to search through the thread to find it now but these are the facts of the matter. I suggest you get your own facts right in future.

The FT said that the cutbacks made no where near met the loss of the parachute payments. That was said on here.

But there were reductions - and we continued to spend money on new players - the ikes of Hume, Hammond, Fryatt were bought with some of the Connolly money for example.

Do you really think last season we would have turned down the offer for Maybury, and the seven figure offer for Stearman, if we were losing over half a million a month, which is what Chrysais is claiming?

I'm sure we were running at a loss - and it was a concern. But nowhere near the level that is being suggested.

Maybe the board took a gamble.....

If the future was so rosy why didn't the old board continue and why did they accept such a derisory offer from MM?

Coventry are losing 80-90k a week at the moment. It's quite possible we were losing a similar amount. I put the debt at the time to be around £4.5-5million, hence MM putting in 9 million over 2 seasons.

Chrysalis claims to have privvy to the information sent to shareholders, we're just guessing.

Thanks for the suggestion, it is very helpful advice.

The only reason that I remember it is because you had been banging on and on and on and on about your superior knowledge of journalistic practices in every thread you posted on, so I found it amusing when Innocent told you to stop spouting rubbish. That isn't a direct quote, but it was very similar.

You obviously didn't read it.

I was wrong to say debt would have increased at 7 mill a year of course cutbacks could have been made to reduce the defecit, but I am right that the situation was very dire and the losses could not have been met. However we drifting off topic here on the subject of MA I still feel his departure was very sudden and I dont believe it to be for on the pitch reasons at all and I dont expect to see MM sacking managers every month.

On the ball Jeff.

Well, confusing indeed...
I'd only read the link, dug out by Jeff, where innocent backs what I was saying about Journalism. http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpo...5&postcount=23
However you had remembered the other link where Innocent had seemed to say the opposite.
However macky you are right about saying, in your recent post, that I was sharing my 'superior' knowledge about journalism, though your tone is no doubt derogatory. But my knowledge on this matter is superior.

Yet another why MM sacked MA thread

The players weren't fit enough. From the Mockery:

He said: “I am very satisfied that the squad is in good hands at the moment.

“Jon Rudkin and his coaches, Mike Stowell and Steve Beaglehole, have already improved the players' fitness, which I was concerned about, and they have done a good job.”

I'm very pleased to see that this is something MM is aware of & will therefore ensure his new manager keeps fitness up. But I don't think it was a reason for the dismissal at all. I think MM was referring to the players not being fit enough PRIOR to Allen's arrival. But agree you could see this differently.

Re: Yet another why MM sacked MA thread

MM speak with forked tongue methinks.

Lets be honest, all these rumours about potential managers being unsettled at their respective clubs (Davies, Burley, Sturrock last week, Calderwood) is all coming from one man.

MM is a media whore who uses tabloids to do his 'approaches'.

Derogatory? Who me?
I don't even know how to spell derogatory.
