Logic isn't always the answer when it comes to emotions Alex.

I can't explain why I feel so excited, I just do

Always get upbeat when a new season is about to open, always been optimistic about what was going to happen (normally over-optimistic). I start to have problems once we are halfway through the season and reality sets in. Optimism is still there but reality kicks in and only enthusiasm keeps you going. Been like that for about 50 years now. It never seems to change. Be happy for a top ten place all season, elated if we get involved with the play-off place/promotion. The future's bright.

I have to say, things have been very subdued on these forums as the new season nears, not even the new signing generated much talk.

Are you excited about the coming season?

i am starting to feel excited, our efforts to keep Kisnorbo has indicated a sense of ambition within the club. although i feel RKs work in the transfer market has neglected some key posistions, i am pretty confident in our squad (any championship team is going to be weak somewhere IMO)

all in, i am optimistic of a successful season (i define success as a challenge for promotion, not necessarily achieving it) and i expect some decent, confident football.

what are your views?

agree with that, we might be weak at left back but the last time we got promoted we had Rogers playing there! Key to success in the championship are good partnerships at centre half and centre forward, both of which we have and i think we've got enough decent players around that to make a challenge for promotion. My only worry is that the midfield will be chopped and changed too much as theres not really 4 obvious players to choose.

I think I'm in the minority in not being excited this season. If I was I would be reconsidering my decision not to renew my season ticket. Last season I had a very optimistic outlook and look where that got me!

life must be fun :)

Don't want to get too excited as I know it will turn into dissapointment come end of season when we finish mid to bottom half of the table.

Don't think we're fecked, but I also don't think we should be getting 'excited' about our chances.

I'm not excited about our chances, I'm always hopeful at the start of a new season. I am excited about the new season, as I'm missing a footie fix, travelling to home & away games with mates, and the highs and lows of the rollorcoaster that is watching LCFC>;)
