Enjoyed that.

Unlucky not to get a point at least.

Absolutely filthy from Mike Dean pretending he didn't see the blatant handball that he was looking directly at from ten yards.

Gutting.

Our defending was inept at times. Arsenal had an excuse that they had injuries, but this is our starting back 5.

Vardy, Maguire, Albrighton and Fuchs all very good.

James and Ndidi will have easier games but struggled in this one.

I thought the Ox was Arsenals best player.

Great performance over all. Two dodgy Arsenal equalisers, par for the course when playing them. Are we to gain from that that we aren't good enough defensively still? I include the midfield in that. Ndidi is very much more stand-offish than Kante was.

Vardy was fantastic, as was Albrighton who ran out of steam as the game went on. Fuchs the same. Okazaki was great until he was substituted as well.

We were very, very good at times but so fragile defensively. We need to strengthen at CB but we j we that from last season. I'd be throwing money at Boro for Gibson tomorrow. Huth will be fine but Morgan is finished.

****ing pissed off.

Knew it would happen but we forced it.

Should have been Andy king coming in to help keep that area strong, instead we bring a ****ing striker on and our left back has to go narrow and gets caught out.

The worst possible way to lose and start the season.

Deflated

I was genuinely please to see a fighting City performance. The difference (apart from Ozil obvious handball) was the fact that Arsenal's substitutes both scored - whereas our three subs barely touched the ball. Mahrez particularly ineffective.

Listen. I ****ing hate Arsenal and they are officially a hump we can't get over.

However, I feel better after that than I did before.

Our marking throughout was shocking but we will blow teams away with Vardy and Albrighton in that kind of form.

BN will say in the end Creggers got outsmarted. He might be right, but bloody hell that was a good game and we look a decent premier league side.

Never boring is it?

I'm not sure about Shakey bringing Kelechi on for James... conceded two within 5 after that.

I guess the first thing to say is that we've more than played our part in a great game of football.

There are positives. Vardy, Albrighton and Maguire were all very good. We went away in a game in which we were comfortable underdogs and took the game to our opponents. We look good going forward and should have enough goals in us to be a threat against most sides this season.

However our defence, as a collective, was appalling. All their goals were defended very badly indeed, whatever comtroversy may have preceded them. Morgan looks shot to me. We are a central defender short. I think most of us can see that and have been able to for some time.

The decision to bring on Iheanacho for James was bizarre. I understand the reasoning for it given how Arsenal were approaching the game by that point, but the timing of it was all wrong. I'm all for positive substitutions but there is a time and a place to employ such changes and this wasn't either. The change didn't lead directly to any of the subsequent goals but it smacks of a level of tactical naivety which worries me.

All in all, I'm gutted at the moment but am reasonably optimistic about our chances of avoiding the sort of trouble we found ourselves in last season.

Bottom of the league. Defended like blind incompetents. Awful in midfield. Mindless substitutions. Shakespeare out.

Some excellent play from our forward players. They'll soon get sick of it all as the goals against column ticks over rapidly.

Here is exhibit 'a' for this season in the 'Shakespeare cannot manage us' prosecution. Surely, no team will get a better chance against Arsenal than that. They were there for the taking, begging to get beaten and somehow we find a way to lose.
