I guess the first thing to say is that we've more than played our part in a great game of football.
There are positives. Vardy, Albrighton and Maguire were all very good. We went away in a game in which we were comfortable underdogs and took the game to our opponents. We look good going forward and should have enough goals in us to be a threat against most sides this season.
However our defence, as a collective, was appalling. All their goals were defended very badly indeed, whatever comtroversy may have preceded them. Morgan looks shot to me. We are a central defender short. I think most of us can see that and have been able to for some time.
The decision to bring on Iheanacho for James was bizarre. I understand the reasoning for it given how Arsenal were approaching the game by that point, but the timing of it was all wrong. I'm all for positive substitutions but there is a time and a place to employ such changes and this wasn't either. The change didn't lead directly to any of the subsequent goals but it smacks of a level of tactical naivety which worries me.
All in all, I'm gutted at the moment but am reasonably optimistic about our chances of avoiding the sort of trouble we found ourselves in last season.
