Boc, just wanted to say I really enjoyed this thread, thanks a lot for your efforts mate.

There has been research that has shown that ice baths can do more harm than good. Ordinary cold water is OK, but not ice. But I'm sure people will keep doing it because it's the latest fad.
Not as ridiculous as people wearing those hologram wristbands that are supposed to have magical effects on your balance though. That's just stupidity.

Aye, there have also been studies that say fruit is bad for you, blah blah blah, wrap everyone in cotton wool and for God sake don't let them eat chocolate.

Having seen how Mo Farah has progressed since moving to a regime using a seriously cold nitrogen 'bath' and hearing my sister in law (a Phd in Physiotherapy from Wellington), I'd suggest that the anti ice bath research is fairly weak.

When I looked into this some time ago I found far more research papers saying ice baths either did no good, or did more harm than good than those that said they helped. There has been a suggestion that those who say they feel a less pain after an ice bath are just benefiting from a placebo effect.

Boc? Nottingham Fox? All good? Did you make it back safely?

Boc, when I went to Kristinebergs IP in September last year, someone working for Djurgården (their women's team played there last season) said the stadium would be demolished within weeks. Did you hear anything about this? Not that it is a lot to knock down, should go rather swiftly.

There wasnt much to knock down. Several local runners were using the running track when the players were done, maybe they got a petition against it?
