While I'd usually prefer Albrighton of the 3, he'd slow it down too much here or just not be up with play.

It's genuinely putting me off football altogether now.

When I read about what happened to that poor boy I had tears in my eyes. It was heart breaking.

It is also feck all to do with football. The constant intrusion of the rest of the world into football is defeating the object of the game for me. Feck your poppies, your rainbow laces, your taking the knee and all the rest.

Football is about an escape from the real world. Not a continual reminder of it.

Rainbow Laces and taking the knee are both important messages to support sections of society that don't get enough of a voice, and to reach an audience who are probably disproportionately to the wider population still living with ignorant views, so I understand their place.

Pausing the game for a minute's silence or applause during the game for fans though, no matter how tragic and horrific the circumstances, does feel out of place though.
