Are you saying that we should have played Slimani from the start then?
I'm unsure to be honest.

Maybe in replacement of Okazaki might have been better than the initial line up with Slimani playing in the hole?

A quote from you on the Championship thread:

So getting a basic rule completely wrong is forgivable because he's human. But making a call wrong that was marginal and at a fast pace is deserving of being hung drawn and quartered?

Take a leaf out of Rugby's book it would have taken a third official 30 seconds maximum to tell the referee it was a free kick. no requirement to stop play just simply let it run the ref will bring it back, players will not be able to complain or ask for cards because the eye in the sky has seen it.

Sounds like common sense. No room for that in football.

If you had read and could undestand my posts you'd have realised that I was criticising the refs - all 4 of them - that is why you and others attacked my posts.

And to be clear: A wrong call isn't marginal - it's wrong. I guess at school you blamed low marks on your answers being marginal.

You said that ref wasn't to blame for the lack of knowledge of a basic rule because he was human.

You've then said that last nights ref was inept because he got a fast paced borderline decision incorrect.

Really you just don't have a clue what you're talking about.

UEFA stats say that Vardy only attempted 2 passes in 77 mins on the pitch. Failing with both of them and had no shots on target. Haven't found the stats showing how many players he closed down yet though probably someone can point them to me. Slimani completed 3 of 5 passes in 15 minutes without a shot on target.
Slimani also gave the ball straight to an attacker on the edge of his own area in the last few minutes leading to an opportunity for them to have an effort on goal.

I'm not having a go at him, he was alright when he came on and linked up well but I am merely suggesting the meaningless nature of trying to assess his 10 minutes against the 80 or so of any other player. Vardy was tireless in his closing down and chasing of lost causes. He also made a few excellent runs. He had next to no service or support, however he could and possiblly should have done better when he was played in by Albrighton later on in the game.

I've got two balls, neither of which are crystal so I couldn't tell you whether Slimani may have been a better option than Okazaki. No manager in their right mind would have made that choice though (quite rightly) given the way we had played in the previous 5 games or so.

No completed passes and no shots on target in 77 mins is hard to argue against.

Not if you watched the game. You obviously didn't.

Well you know that I did.

Am I not allowed to have a different point of view to you and City Fan?

I'm amazed at how much rope Vardy and Mahrez are given. If a defender was as lazy and inefficient as those two have been for most of this year we'd have lost by double digits every game.

Of course you are allowed a different view point, no matter how wrong, stupid, irrelevant or unprovable it may be. You keep banging on about 'laziness' but I've come to the conclusion that you are unaware of what the word means so let me paint you a picture:

To keep suggesting the same old nonsense about someone regardless of any evidence and in the face of contradictory exemplification from a multitude of sources, just because it is easier than actually thinking about things in a more logical and considered way could, to some, be considered lazy.

I hope this helps.

I've seen the laziness of Mahrez and Vardy with my own eyes. I'll believe them over yours and City fan's. Not sure how you can argue aganist it really. Vardy and to a much lesser extent Mahrez have worked harder lately though. We tend to agree on most things - you and I - but if you want to keep going over our different views of Vardy and Slimani in particular, feel free. Hope this helps.

Not sure if this is still true but Vardy has had a higher conversion % of clear chances this season last time I looked.
