They respect somebody that tells them to shut the fukk up and do what they are told as they are employed to be their superior. Gerry would be a good asst coach using his aggression and determination and learning from the top man at the same time. Footballers have life too easy, they need dealing with, Gerry would be idealWilllow said:Why would they respect somebody that has no experience in coaching?

No, I don't mean physical aggressionWilllow said:So basically he would be a good coach because he would hit anybody that didnt do what he said? :icon_roll :icon_roll
Why not get Steve Walsh back and he can threaten to sleep (allegedly) with all their wives! :icon_roll

PFKAKTF FOX said:Would Taggart accept an half arsed display from the players, no would he fcuk, he would expect all of them to give 110% and if they didnt then they would feel his wrath.
And I doubt there are any of the existing squad who would happily take the hairdryer treatment from Taggs.
Remember the Martin Reeves incident in the friendly Vs Bilbao, when he went apeshit at the youngster because he didnt feel he was pulling his weight, dont imagine we would have seen some of the powder puff performances witnessed under Levein had Taggart been around.

As for coaching ability... who knows? Similar situation to Neil Lennon, really. Both are (or were) a little bit on the wild side off the pitch. With an inexperienced squad and inexperienced managed, I'm not sure this is what we really need.
But... Gerry, Gerry!
Willlow said::icon_lol: :icon_lol: I remember that, I also remember him grabbing Savage by the neck during a game and almost pushing him over :icon_bigg As well as the classic clip of him assaulting Dennis Wise whilst playing for Stoke. :icon_bigg Also him going on Soccer AM and threatening to "get" Dougie Freeman back for feigning injury and getting Gerry sent off! :icon_bigg
Everything you want in a coach!
Although saying all that when CL whilst still playing for Hearts got sent off in a friendly for breaking his own players nose after they let a goal! He got banned for several games. :icon_roll :icon_roll :icon_roll

Leigh said:While I'd like Tags (or Lenny) here, I can't see him being the kind of assistant that Rob wants. Rob likes being the one out their coaching, with his assistant inside doing the paperwork, or sitting in the stands to report down while Rob is on the touchline. Gerry isn't that kind of guy.
I can see him running a pub at some point, but only for a few disastrous months..... :icon_lol:Naughty Fox said:I can see Taggart ending up at Barnsley.
