Despite the criticism of the team selection, it is a more attacking line up. Having hume linking up between the midfield and forwards makes a difference. The forwards aren't isolated like they often were under megson.
The players also seem to be playing with a bit more freedom. Midfielders aren't as scared of going forward.
Newton has been mostly crap but has had some good moments when he's played in his proper position on the wing. He didn't do that under megson.

Still doing some stuff i don't like though, like bringing everyone back to defend corners.
Be interesting to see what they've been told at half time, whether to keep things as they are or defend deeper.

Good post Jeff, as you say it will be interesing to see how we play second half.

If Newton is our last option, then he should really play on the wing where his passing is not as vital.
