I was in front of the goal just a row above what looked to be all the players relatives etc. I was in my seat far too early and then never left it until full time.

Going S****horpe now? hehehe

Jobber is one of the most soundest blokes I've had the pleasure of meeting, He is a proper footie fan, he goes to every game and supports the lads no matter what...something which is sadly lacking on this forum

And you take the piss out of him for taking his shirt off and singing.....pah

Say it as you see it.

It wasn't his flag; it belonged to the fan who had been ejected a few minutes earlier and who had asked for it to be brought to him.

You will know that there was a vehement protest from the City fans as the flag was taken down. Jobber had a discussion with the police and stewards about it; his acceptance of the reasoning for it and his relaying it to the rest of the crowd prevented any escalation of the problems that were taking place.

I can't help agreeing with every word of this. Having spoken to him very briefly on just two occasions, I am sure that people make unfair judgments on him, based on his size and dress (or lack of it).

The calling of "Jobber, Jobber, give us a song" from the large group at the back and his clear and carrying voice replying to that request, make him the nearest thing that City have had to a Kop-leader since the demise of Roderick and Glen in the late 60s.

In that case, :038:. I just assumed it was his flag as I seen him return to his seat with it in a JD Sports bag.

Just out of interest, what was the reason?

Did you read the paragraph above the one that you quoted?

Yes, but if someone had been ejected why couldn't his flag have stayed in place until after the end of the game?

If it was because he wanted it back, well isn't that like the kid taking his ball home with him because he got subbed?!
