i think they actually wanted to play it BG and as for the cardiff game i would think the taffs would want to switch to saturday to attract more people

there was going to be a lot kicking off, and everything was there to make this hard for the club and police, saturday evening after being on the lash all day, big rival firms and all that.
If its now played on say a Tuesday evening the trouble will be limited. On the other hand the club has lost say £50K on TV money

Surely they've had enough time to clear the bricks etc and surround the hotel so that no one can go by it. As far as petty excuses go for calling off a FOOTBALL match, This takes the biscuit.
Now if we were planning stone fights on the other hand....
