Gotta say I thought Gallypants was a flop, but he's starting to justify his transfer fee in the past couple of games.

I'd agree that gallagher looks good. He has the technical abilty to hold onto the ball and passes well.

As for the game, I've just watched the highlights and think we thoroughly deserved the win. The penalty was 50/50 but we had some really good chances. On another day Fryatt and Waghorn both score and the game is out of sight. Lloyd Dyer should be praised for the effort he made to get into the box - great desire.

A great 3 points and if we can add to that in the next couple of games we will be in a great position. If somebody had offered this position to me in pre-season I would have snapped their hands off.

The more I think about the january transfer window, the more I admire pearson. He obviously has faith in his players and wants to keep a close knit team spirit. He doesn't want to bring players in and upset the apple cart. Its amazing what a win can do!

Heard there was a flare in the city end, any truth?

I have watched the so called penalty incident about 10 times including live at the time. I just cant see a penalty. The Blackpool player was looking for it and went with minimal contact. If you want to see a clear penalty that wasnt given there was at least 1 possibley 2 that went against us last week -they were both more of a penalty than that! Great win city! Now a real opportunity with 2 winnable home games!

I was at the game and also i have watched replay several times The Adams incident was similar to an earlier tussle with Brown/pool forward ( same slight arm contact only this time the player didnt dive!) the ref didnt give it so it wasnt a penalty ..end of

I agree... against Newcastle I was like "Ahhh I finally see why Pearson is playing him on the wing"

His dribbling ability is fantastic and he can take players on. Glad to see he's starting to come good.

Having watched the penalty incident again on the highlights, I was actually less convinced that it was a penalty... looked like just a tangle of legs that sent him down. Still could've been given, especially with the hand on the shoulder, but not clear cut. The player might have gone down fairly easily as well, but to book him for diving was definetely harsh!

Both our goals were pretty decent I thought.... great ball by Waghorn for Dany's goal.

I think N'Guessan is good, glad to see him getting picked a bit more (even if today was partly down to a lack of other options perhaps)... 3 goals in his last 5 games though, he's certainly staking a claim for a regular start.

We've got 2 very winnable games coming up this week, hopefully take 6 points from them and be looking good for playoffs.

:102: I thought he was on loan at Leyton Orient.

Out of interest for those who were there yesterday, were we really playing 4-3-3 like the football league show claimed, or was it more of a 4-5-1?

For a lot of the game it seemed to be 4-4-2, but sometimes it was 4-4-1-1, and a decent chuck of the game it was a 4-3-3, and everything in between. It started very much 4-4-2 though - Gallagher right, Dany left, then switched briefly before switching back. Definitely not 4-5-1 at any point.

We started off with 4-2-2? Nice to give Blackpool a bit of a chance I suppose ;)

My heart tells me this is the start of a great february run which will cement our place in the top 6. My head tells me we will draw at least one of our next two home games, resulting in everyone being pissed off on here and me heading for the safehouse yet again!

I'll see you there.

Donnie and Scunthorpe will be a real test.
We've clearly got lots of attacking options and have no trouble shifting the ball about on the counter.
Fryatt clearly enjoys working with Waghorn, Gallagher, N'Guessan, Dyer and King, who move the ball about and each have a turn of pace over 5 yards.
I think we will always have inconsistency to us though whilst we have a lack of defensive balance in midfield and while we are unsure over who to play at right back/centre back.

All in all though - we are in a great position for a club that was completely on its arse 18 months ago. And we are doing it the right way with cheaply bought youth (fryatt, hobbs, morrisson, n'guessan, waghorn, gallagher, dyer) and experience rather than spending silly millions like forest, wba and middlesborough who can bring in players for £3million plus in an aim to buy the division.

Enjoyed yesterday! Good win and a very open and good game, not the best quality however! Thought N'Guessan played well as did Hobbs and Brown. Was very relieved to see Bannan go off for them though in the first half as he was causing us a lot of problems and looked very dangerous, overall though a good win as Blackpool are doing well and we were not doing well away from home before yesterday.

Micky, I read the situation slightly differently...
I think Pearson has clearly indicated that he would have liked to have brought at least one more player in and that 'the financial situation' (his words) did not allow it. I can't imagine that it would have been a very expensive player he was after - Pearson is a very realistic man so probably wasn't wanting to spend an awful lot (nor should we as you say), but I think I detected signs of frustration and disappointment that MM/Hoos have put the squeeze on expenditure even more tightly than he expected. Pearson is normally very circumspect and keeps things 'in house' as a matter of policy, so I thought these comments indicated some frustration and were a slightly and mildly vieled public criticism of MM/Hoos. Yes, he's complaining about the window itself and some silly prices as well, but I think he had some disappointment in the backing from MM/Hoos being as low and as tight as it was.
