Weso should have fallen over when blatently fouled in the box too. All in all this was one of the most difficult openers for us IMO. They are a settled side on an excellent run from last year and full of confidence. We were obviously a new side struggling to gel. IMO we had more quality it was just that alot of the passes were played to te wrong areas and we seemed to have a slight break down in communication. We definatly need more balance in the side left winger etc but overall i think we will be ok this season. Maybe top 10 but not playoffs, i dont think we will be messing with relegation this year.

well said mate ,100% agree with you :038::038::038:

GM is ok when the ball is planted on his head - other than that he's a bit clueless at times. Kish and Clem do the same job - it's a concern of mine that they will cancel each other out, need a creative midfielder there.

thought kish looked like he wasnt sure where he was playing in the first half. bit of a headless chicken really. we do need a creative player, some width and a goal scorer if we are to challenge for the top half this season. unfortunately i feel the wholesale changes have been made on player by player basis with little thought of how its going to piece together as a team

Jesus - leave it out lads.

Everyone is entitled to thier opinion, however, I do agree that you get the best idea from going to the match because you can watch what's happening both on and off the ball, the shape of the team, the general intent etc.

OK - so we lost the first game. Big Deal. Thing is, we expected nothing less than a win - even a draw wouldn't have been good enough. I think what we all forgot was that it was the first game of the season - strikers, midfielders, defenders, goalies will not be sharp yet. We created enough chances to win the game, the fact is that they took advantage of a player injury and took the points. On another day we'll do the same.

Forget this match - we've got a very tough trip to Palace next. Bring it on!

Was very suprised to see L1 pretty much sold out, very encouraging imo as it would have been a shame to have massive gaps next to the away fans.

good evening Innocent, long time no posts, you keeping well?

Yeah, just writing this damned PhD. Half way through, now. It's taking hell out of me though, and have very little time to post here, so it was good to sit in the sun yesterday afternoon and see quite a promising and committed second half performance.
But then, I'm a glass-half-full person, anyway :)

That might've had something to do with the fact that a) even though they said people would be asked to show their STs before the game and going up the stairwell for the second half the stewards didn't, so a few lads I know from the Kop managed to get into L1 for the second half and b) despite being told it would be a STH only area, somehow there were people who had match tickets bought by STH for them for L1.

This is where I have my doubts about Allen. He has signed 12 players so far, yet STILL we need players to fill certain positions. Shouldn't this have been sorted before the season started ? It's not as if we haven't got the finances now to attract players, in fact we should be able to compete with every club in this division when it comes to paying wages, so why after signing all these players are we still short on quality ? I fear Allen has signed players that are no better than what we already have, bringing in average players to replace average players.

Atleast we didn't have to hear, "we'll work hard on the training ground". Am i the only one who thought MDV was awful, he won a couple of balls in the air but missed alot more then he won

The problem is that many ambitious players who are not already with premiership clubs want to join clubs that are going to put them on that stage asap and it will take time to convince them that Leicester City is in that frame.

We look at football through the eyes of Leicester fans remembering better days - they simply see a club that has struggled to even remain in the second tier.

It's going to take time and patience.

I doubt if you are the only one - there were a couple behind me booing him every time he went near the ball. I suspect that had he put away a hat-trick there would be some still demending he was dropped for not getting four.

A lot of the ones he "missed" in the second half were a result of being consistently held down or pushed in the back by their centre backs.

No it isn't the end of the world, and nobody is behaving like it is.

If it was the end of the world we'd be spending it with the ones we love not typing on a football internet forum, our behaviour is rational, expected and justified. When we spend all this money and emotion on our football team, we have the right to voice our opinion without the away-with-the-fairies brigade jumping down our throats.

You are the ones I love.

1-0, a shitter, it must be better, I believe it will be.

MA is not out of his depth at all, we were playing Blackpool not Barca for God's sake. We have no divine right to win **** all.

Here's hoping we will silence the eagles next week.

Not looking forward to that one:icon_conf. The first 3 opening fixtures are not the hardest we could have faced in this league, but imo we could do with them at a different stage.
Blackpool at home would have been ideal half a dozen games in. Palace will be full of confidence and is usually one of those grounds where we always play shite. Watford boosted by their win at Wolves could be coming to the Walkers looking for 3 out of 3 and top of the early league.
Imo Watford will go close to auto promotion. They are one of those sides that seem to go unnoticed but operate effectively in this league.
I can see pain before gain, and yesterdays result was a perfect reminder to everyone who was taken in by the hype that you have to gain the respect of the opposition before they fear playing us. Blackpool just hung in there and waited for an opportunity, and its what other average teams have been doing to us on a regular basis far too much in the last 3 seasons. The Walkers has become an happy hunting ground for opponents, they detect the fear and anxiety of both players and fans and then take full advantage. Three or four years at the Walkers and it still dosent feel like home, and we have yet to see a Leicester team to grace the stadium.
Filbo was a crumbling stadium and the move was needed, but for all the extra fans we can put into the Walkers it does not have the identity and intimidating edge that Filbo could provide. Imo most teams enjoy coming here and enjoy even more taking the three points away. Until we can build a strong home record and make other teams dread the visit, we will find it hard to escape our mediocrity
