It's got more substance than a word on the street.

However, TD hasn't got where he has by being a complete idiot. Maybe with MM as his boss, we might see a new TD that isn't working and creating ideas purely out of desperation.

I'm not over excited about it, but I am more than happy for him to prove himself

TNBD has had fecking long enough too prove himself, IMO once MM has his feet under the desk, TD will be gone.

I'm not going to argue with much of that, but I do wonder how RK (and the players) might have performed within a more 'supportive structure' - i.e. one without all this chaos going on around them.

Its not a brainer.

Kelly did well in the immediate aftermath of Levein getting the push. That lasted a short time. The hapless board seized on that and gave him the permanent job. Since then - and well before the talk of MM taking over - Kelly's results have been consistent....consistently very poor. This is reflected in our league position which has been lowly for a long time.

All this is not very fair on Kelly. He has been put in a job to which he is unsuited. We dod not have a very strong squad....but I would have thought that most people believe that a better manager would get more out of them.

So caring about the future of the club I support is a death wish? Bit of an oxymoron, that.;)

I accept that you raise valid points and I understand about you being committed to the club.....but the bottom line of most of your arguments is that we would contine to look at re-cycling the people who have miserably failed or those who have shown no active interest in serious intervention.

I realise that I am acid about the present set up....but I think it is justified and the only valid alternative is MM. I don't see MM as necessarily a panacea for solving all the problems, but I would think that he would provide some leadership and raise a bit of interest...and I would be assuming getting rid of the hopelessly inadequate e.g. RK

It's very easy to criticise the board in hindsight, and blame them for choosing the cheap option, but most fans - including you - were in favour of keeping RK in charge for this season.

Show us the evidence, please, so we can all have a good laugh at Redditch Fox's expense.

Can you also show them where I said pre-season that we would be calling for RK's head before the end of the season and everybody disagreed with me.

"if Kelly continues to do well, I can't see the point of bringing in another re-cycled failure from the group who are eternally seeking to be associated with vacancies. Unless we can appoint someone a bit special, it may well be best to let him carry on for the long term."

"Kelly is doing really well - he has turned things round already - I hope that he really wants the job and goes on from here."

"think there are too many cases where the same old failures as manager are recycled and so it's refreshing that RK (a new face in football managership) has been given a chance and is doing well - so far.

Many years ago at LCFC - a certain Matt Gillies emerged from the backroom to take over the manageship and took the club to greater success including top (briefly) of the first tier by Easter Tuesday1963 as well as FA Cup Finals etc....so it happens."

"on the basis of turning over 2 points a match from quite a tricky position and not the easiest fixture, he deserves his chance for next season.

I hope that he isn't too much of a 'nice guys' - nice guys generally win nothing. But on the basis that we are hardly likely to be able to recruit a top draw manager, he seems the best option."

Shame on the board for appointing RK. If only we could then have had someone with the hindsight of Redditch Fox...

Nice work Jeff.

Not trying to sound like a clever fecker.... well, actually I am trying to sound like a clever fecker... I don't get many opportunities so bear with me...

All I asked for at that time was that we appoint "a manager". But we didn't; we appointed a coach.

"We are where we are"....

.... and that's because "we did what we did."

Nowt wrong with changing opinions. "I now realise Kelly is a clown" is fine. Nor is there anything wrong with having a pop at the board now as being hapless for making the decision you were advocating then... but it does make you look silly.

Not entirely sure what you are getting at there...

I thought Kelly did a good job, but with practically the same players we have gone down hill rapidly.

So my opinion has changed. If you can't change your opinion based on experiences you're a fool.

I think the point was that the board at the time made a decision that most people agreed with. So there is no great shame in that dicision IMO.

I think Fan pressure had a lot to do with the dcision too.

The board should be judged on how they handle the situation that has develped from that decision, the situation now reveals that RK isn't quite up to the job.

It is reasonable i think that he has been given a year in charge, but now we need to aknowledge the mistake and put it right.

For the record, i too supported RKs appointment, but time has revealed it was the wrong choice.
