true but someone is bound to slip up!!

lets hope our history in this great underrated cup can continue

I agree and find it funny that despite the huge tradition of clubs like Newcastle United , the league cup means in terms of silverware that we have been more successful than them over the last 40-50 years.

newcastle havent won anything since 1969 or something, thats why. i think this is a shit tie, but good as it saves me some money, vowed i would never go to the reebok again after being less than impressed last time, and stick by it

didnt we say that when we played we played Charlton last season in the FA Cup!! at least we can do is play with team spirit and graft!! and put in a good performance.

At the end of the day there is no shame in going out of a cup after being beat by a team from a higher divison.

we can win this you fickle boneheads

yes - its possible anyone could beat anyone - but this is still a totally crap draw in every sense.....it would obviously have been better to have played anyone at home where we would have had a good chance of picking up Sky revenue given the chance of causing an upset or played a 'glamour' side away and picked up the gate receipts

As mentioned above, we have a reputation for being about the most boring side in our division... and if i see Bolton scheduuled for Sky, unless I'm suffering from insomnia,I rush to the channel control. Big Sam has done a fantastic job for Bolton....but no one else wants to watch them.

I've nothing against Bolton, and I'm intrigued by the accusation of 'boring' levelled against a side containing players like Okocha, Diouf and Nakata... remind anyone of when we played bigger clubs off the park and the media sulked at us? Allardyce's 'style of play' is judged by when his team play shit, just as MON's was, cos the media hate their glamour boys being shown up (Greece copped this nonsense too at Euro 2004).

And when English teams play shit they hoof aimlessly - even if they're full of foreigners! That's why the 'manager's style' debate re: the England job is so laughable.

Having said all that I'm dead annoyed with this draw, cos there's no way I'll be able to go. Really wanted a London tie, haven't made any of the LCup games thus far. Plus the Reebok's in an orrible retail park with no decent pub, IIRC. Don't have the money, don't have the time. They've done alright without me so far though!

It is a great draw for me, being based in the North West, could not have wished for better.

As for the draw, in terms of the club, it will be a tough game, that probably wont attract a massive gate or the Sky cameras, but what it does gives us is the opportunity for our young players to go and compete against a decent premiership side at there ground, these types of games are invaluable in the progression and development of this young City side, and IMO it is certainly a game that we are capable of winning, this will be a terrific opportunity to guage how far we have come as a club under Levein, and it provides valuable experience for where CL wants us to be long term.

As they are now top six, ignoring a possible cup upset, I think we could end up on the wrong end of a damn good spanking!

If we wanted to win, we would have been better off drawing Manure or Liverpool.

Liverpool were knocked out Mike.I can't see us getting through against Bolton but I live in hope.

I think Sam prefers the older man....usually on their last pay day before retiring i.e Hierro,Djorkaeff,Speed etc

its a tough draw dont think bolton have lost at home since august but we go there as underdogs and shouldnt have anything to fear :icon_wink

Bloody horrible draw, uninspiring dour affair on the cards, on the M6 which means it will be difficult to get easy.

Might still go though.

If the M6 is a problem for you, go straight up the M1 and across the M62. I don't think it will be even 5 miles further that way!

Shit draw.. we'll lose and it will be a crap game.

That was exactly what I thought mate, shame.

the only probelm with that route is if theres an accident in the Stoke area.

eeerrr... neither the M1 nor the M62 go anywhere near Stoke!!

Pants draw in my opinion but i'll still be going, you gotta be in it to win it and i think we will do just that.......0-0 90mins, and we sneak a cheeky one in extra time!
Come on guys you all know you want to go.....its an adventure! hahaha
