The sodding game's going to be on the sodding Wednesday, I just know it.

Seems very likely!

Bolton are playing Vitoria Guimaraes the previous Thursday in the UEFACup; their weekend game against Fulham has already been put back to Sunday, even though their website does not yet show this; therefore they will play our game on the Wednesday.[/COLOR]

Is this more of a problem than if it was on the Tuesday?

I'm surprised the Plymouth game is still on Tuesday, after they played yesterday.

A cynic might even say that only Premiership clubs can change their dates to suit themselves - remember that we had to play at Watford last season only 2 days after travelling to Blackburn for the 6th round of the FAC.

I trust this is some kind of reference to their shorts, Webbo, and that you haven't become some kind of a racist overnight.

That was a different situation though, because we wanted to move the game to a different week, not just change from Tuesday to Wednesday, because we were playing on the Friday of that week too.

But we played Cardiff on Wednesday last week because we'd played on the previous Sunday.

Maybe Plymouth didn't want to move tomorrow's game. Or maybe they did but we objected to it.

Doesn't alter the fact that Premiership teams are not expected to play games within 48 hours of each other, whereas Championship teams are.

You're the one who put that code in your original message!
I just managed to delete the bit that closed it.

Are you accusing me of being a covert racist?

I think it has something to do with the fact that Championship teams play more league matchs and so therefore if we do well in the cups the games are going to pile up. I dont think that the powers above prefer Premiership teams, in fact I remember Mourinho moaning last year about playing games to close to each other!

Premiership teams do play two matches in 48 hours occasionally (for example there are matches scheduled on Boxing day and 28/12 this year), but usually they're able to move matches by a day to avoid clashes.

I think the only reason it happened to us was because we had to play on a Friday night - Premiership teams don't have that problem.

Personally, yes.

eeee - stop it, Webbo - or you'll have me harping back to the days when we used to play 3 games in 4 days over Christmas and Easter, usually with a home and away fixture against the same club included.

could be a boring game with MDV missing the last penalty in the shootout, just to please our arsehole contingent.
bolton is easy enough to get to, just not really worth it when you are there, you may fancy a spot of shopping or a KFC or something but don't expect a pint in a pub or a friendly welcome. i enjoy away matches usually, for example preston at the weekend we spent hours talking to the opposition fans in the pub, then walked up to the ground together with usual stupid banter....at bolton you get told by the police not to drink in any of the pubs as they'll kick your head in and then shuffle into a rather bog standard stadium - fun!
