Name someone who could do a better job than the useless, clueless lardarse Craig Shakespeare

Other acceptable answers are Paul Ince and H from Steps
You can add Coco the Clown to that list too.

Overrun in midfield again. I've not seen Silva play, but I would hazard a guess he won't be able to affect change so massively as to make sense of the formation.
We need to take the pressure off the backline and simultaneously provide more opportunity to the front. Midfield is the way to do this, and playing three centrally I think now is essential. A middle three of Iborra, N'Didi and Silva could be considerably better than what we've seen thus far.

I cannot believe that Shakespeare is being so stupidly stubborn, without Kante 4-4-2 does not work against the elite teams and doesn't work in the majority of away games, we are so open, over run and stretched, and to add insult to injury we create so little away from home. Despite spending money on proven talent from both home & abroad, we are largely selecting the old guard.

IMO the first team has almost a cartel feel about it, if you were here in 2015/16 then you get first dibs at playing regardless of form. I would question if Huth was fit, if Maguire would have had a sniff of first team football.

Whilst the fixtures have been difficult to start with and we haven't been smashed out of sight, in the same way at no time have we made ourselves solid and compact to sneak a point, we beat a poor Brighton side but then been outplayed by newly promoted Huddersfield and battered by struggling Bournemouth. We lack any kind of cohesive pattern of play, with the exception of Maguire we lack composure & confidence in possession of the ball and our attacking play borders on desperation and is one dimensional.

The experiment of appointing the players mate has failed and must be addressed sooner rather than later, there are enough options within the squad to freshen things up both in personnel and formation but needs someone at the helm brace enough to make these decisions before it's too late.

A quick fix by replacing Shakespeare with a real 'manager' would be great. I'm not sure though that it would be that easy to find anyone outside the Roy Hodgson category who would be willing to come in at this moment and take the major steps needed to put the club back on track with the season in sway. If there is someone then please do it. Otherwise there is some comfort in the few clubs who are in a similar wretched state ......and this could save us from relegation. I think that the more likely bet is a new manager, better recruitment people and the owners to have to dig deep again to bring in players next summer whilst the 'best mates' contingent is severely pruned.

So, if Kante made these players look better than they are, now Kante has gone, why are so many lambasting these players for not being the superstars we thought they were?
Kante didn't make the players look better kante is like have two players that's why we were able to play a 4 4 2

I don’t think it’s management I don’t think we have enough quality in the mid or the ability to keep playing a 4-4-2 but no one likes to switch formation. If next week we switch the likely good we get smashed by West Brom and then Swansea
At least it shows he is trying different approaches and is at least making other managers do some homework!

The dilemma is do we wait and write the season off like we did with Ranieri? Or do we move fast and give the new manager 2 weeks before the season restarts?

Christ, just watched MOTD.

If you do watch it then look out for the 2nd half and watch the pathetic positioning and non existent marking/tracking of Iborra and Wilfred, truly shocking stuff and we will have plenty of hiding coming our way from teams who can actually find the target.

The bit that fails me is we do have options to change things around, Amartey, King, Iborra and Ndidi can all be utilised in a 3 man midfield and give greater protection.

We persist in selecting Vardy who is known to be carrying a knock even though we have Slimani or Ieanacho available to lead the line. The only change made yesterday was to drop Mahrez who bizarrely despite being our most skilful and potentially our only game changer is the "easy" target as he rarely kicks up a stink.

Too many of this team and management structure believe that because of what they achieved 2 seasons ago makes them untouchable and indispensable, we need this mentality changing now before we sleepwalk our way back to the Championship.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to defend the players and the manager.

4-3-3 or 4-2-1-3

there has to be more option up front than expecting Vardy to receive long over the top balls into the corner and Shinji to run as fast as he can and take 10 minutes to get into the box as he is slow as feck.

If we line up as 4.4.2 (or 1-1) we are week in attack, play defensive football and are likely to lose. It worked for a season now move on.

I think the best formation for is would be 4 5 1 as the midfield is where everything breaks down so we should pack out the midfield

who would you stick in midfield...can only be players we officially have (not Silva)
Iborra just in front of the back four sweeping up, followed by Albrighton or Chillwell, Ndidi, King or Shinji, Mahrez or Gray with Vardy up front in theory the midfield will allow us to compete and also give the ability of the wingers to bomb forward to link up Vardy. 4-5-1 is needed because our back four is actually playing well so why change it?

When we've played Vardy up front by himself in the past it's been ineffective, because there's been a big gap between him and the midfield. We've just punted it hopefully in his general direction, which is easy to defend against, and if he does get on the ball he can't hang on to it long enough for someone to join him in the attack.

A big part of our problem at the moment is the attitude of the players. When we played on the break a couple of years ago we'd have players all over the pitch busting a gut to get forward and help the attack, then when we lost possession, doing the same to help out the defence. That's not happening now. It's as though they've lost the freedom to play that way. Maybe it's to do with pressure, or a lack of confidence.
Maybe they've been told to play more cautiously. But we're at our most effective when we play aggressively and take the game to our opponents, rather than wait to see what happens.

Vardy plays too far forward and the midfield play too deep. It's what happened at the weekend and we hoofed it.

Attitude is a huge problem.

If we could clear the old guard out I would.

Jeff agreed in part however, if we put Iborra ten metres in front of the back four this should push the midfield much higher it would have worked a treat against Liverpool and would have nullified couthinio. It would also give the ability for the likes of Shinjy to play in the pockets in front of their back four, if the ball goes down the channel for Vardy the entire team needs to step up to exert pressure.
You are spot on about punting the ball the only player capable of passing accurately is Mahrez, sadly we are screaming out for a player like Silva the fact we allowed Drinky to go before the deal was done with Silva was criminal. Shakey MUST make us more compact in midfield and encourage the wingers to get forward Iborra and Ndidi can cover if it breaks down it will plug the huge gap in the middle, 4-5-1 in defence 4-2-4 in attack.
