I agree, he is pretty good. Observation from the incident, both him and Perez required treatment but only Perez had to leave the field to be waved back on, why?

While it might be funny to see teams have to play without a goalkeeper for a while, it's probably not very fair.

That I understand, surely in that instance both players should remain on the pitch. But then again, a player gets hacked down, the offender gets a yellow but the injured player has to leave the pitch, pretty silly.

According to the laws of the game, they should have both stayed on the pitch.

If a player is carded for a challenge that leaves an opponent needing treatment, the player does not need to leave the pitch.

From the laws of the game:

Exceptions to the requirement to leave the field of play are only when:
• a goalkeeper is injured
• a goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and need attention
• players from the same team have collided and need attention
• a severe injury has occurred
• a player is injured as the result of a physical offence for which the opponent is cautioned or sent off (e.g. reckless or serious foul challenge), if the assessment/treatment is completed quickly

Unfortunately there are few officials that are conversant with that particular law. Time and time again players are made to leave the pitch despite their opponent being booked.

How many times have you seen an injured player leave the pitch after a challenge that resulted in a yellow card? It seems to me that as soon as the medical team comes on the pitch, no matter how long thay are on for, the ref always makes the player leave the field of play.
