Once again, it could easily have been given as a foul and nobody would have complained. However, the ref didn't give a foul, he gave the penalty.

The only thing that can change that decision is if the VAR thinks the award of the penalty is a clear and obvious error. He decided it wasn't.

Do I wish he had asked the ref to review? Of course. But the VAR didn't see a reason to change the decision. My only conclusion is that he saw the contact as normal. I'd agree that it was pretty normal.
Just because it happens regularly and it often goes unpunished, doesn't mean it's acceptable or within the rules. It was a foul.

Aside from the penalty, Brighton have completely battered us. 1-0 to them is the least they deserve.

Our shape is fecking idiotic. Soumare as the 10? Maddison wide right? What on earth is BR smoking these days?

Ndidi will be off soon because he's off his game just like Thursday and is mistiming challenges. We need him off and someone who can pass forward on. We also need Iheanacho on the pitch as soon as possible.

BR, you are making a total fecking mess of fairly simple tactics and match preparation at the moment.

The lineup looked bizarre from the off.

even Sky text commentary suggests that's a harsh decision
I'm listening to Radio Sussex. They say it was a definite penalty. Now there's a surprise.

An absolute shambles.

Seriously, Brendan, this is an enormous brain fart of the highest possible order

The whole set up is absolutely ****ing ludicrous

Sounare and !addison have been shit, but they’ve been asked to do something so ****ing ridiculous that I can’t even criticise them

Its an absolute ****ing abomination

The penalty decision was an absolute joke, but we’ve been well and truly battered so far.

Unsurprisingly seeing as we’ve been battered in every league game so far this season. We could have no complaints if we were bottom of the table with zero points.

My prediction: Iheanacho will come on after 70 mins

At one stage we were 3-0 up on shots, and had 72% possession. What changed to make us suddenly turn to shit?
I’ve got no idea. Hopefully Brendan does.

They started playing the ball more aggressively down our right hand side, where we are pretty badly unbalanced. We don’t functionally have a RM on the pitch and Ricardo is being asked to bomb forward. They started exploiting that weakness a lot.
