This is the quote that i like...

'Leicester looked pretty ordinary, and certainly nothing like the quality of side that might be expected to command such a healthy points lead at the top of League One.'

Well if we are ordinary then you must be absolute wank! We are pissing the league and you are not even close to scratching our backsides! I love it!

Listened to the match on RL, which i hardly ever do, Sinclair and Stringer made out we were under the cosh and hanging on 2nd half.

Sounded like Brown did a sterling job too in defence, winning everything and holding the defence together.

We were tested slightly with crosses which Browny and Mozza sorted out but Rovers had a lot of possession and failed to do anything to break us down. A lot of sideways passing and Stuart Campbell playing 5 yard passes. We had more creative powers going forward, although Howard was about passed out come 80 mins.

Leicester's game plan was clear from the outset - attempt to get the ball into the final third by any means, and then aim goalwards if possible.

What a fantastic game plan!!!!!!!!! Where are we in the league?

The person who wrote this must be related to that leeds twat!

Yes. Hobbs mis-timed his challenge, the ball went underneath and he tripped their player. My first reaction was 'clusmy ****'.

But BUNNY saved the day! Quality save.

As I said walking out of the ground, I think we made a massive step today.

One of the most funniest games I've been too. Howard's spat with the goalie and the groundsmen on leaving the ground. :icon_lol:

We were the most dangerous side second half- Bristol Rvrs were very restricted in their play, we kept our shape and should have scored twice more on the counter. Cleverley had a great chance. First half it was scrappy - average fare but Rovers barely got a shot IN and bar our goal, we were only testing from long range.

A real team performance which Pearson absolutely loved it at the end. King/Bunny Equal MOTM. Let the good times roll.

AND WHAT BITTER SHITE THIS REPORT IS - http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10328~1565351,00.html

And poorly written as well for an official site, it's like something off a fans' forum! Much sour grapes :043:

Look at the form tables for all the so called 'chasing pack'. They are miles behind us. We should and deserve to go up as Champions.

I struggle with the blind pessimism and negativity of our fans sometimes even if I take into account our recent history.

Start to enjoy it! It will be a long time (if ever) before we are this good again in terms of position and performance.

I am more positive than that. Remembering the change Nigel brought about during the summer last season I am very optimistic about next season. Nigel will start off from the base of already having a team which was not true of the rag-bag collection of players he inherited. I am sure that Steve Walsh will have some very exciting players in his book of names that will come to a championship club. There is also the thought that Andy King and Michael Morrison will start next season a year more mature and much more experienced. Plus my favourite player Tunchev will be back. Plus we have become a team of clean sheets and match winners. Maybe it is wishful thinking but I would not be surprised at play-offs next season.

I'm not sure why this felt like such a massive three points, but I'm sure that anyone who was there will agree with me that it does, and the players and management staff staying on the pitch applauding and celebrating for a good 5 minutes seems to attest to that as well.

The togetherness that there seems to be at the club at the minute is, in my opinion, the key difference between this year and previous years and the key factor in our success so far. Someone has already said this, but we would not have won this game in recent seasons - we would have just folded. Today, we weren't great, but we dug it out.

All in all, a cracking day out.

scrappy game but 3 points, a clean sheet and another good following:038:

It was very difficult to judge the penalty from the complete opposite end of the ground. From my seat it looked like they ran into each other.

The referee had a dreadful game, only 30 seconds before he awarded the penalty we should have had a free kick following a blatent challenge.

Until the red card, Hobbs was by a country mile the best player on the park. I personally didn't think Brown had all that good of a game. First half he was all over the place, and didn't look composed at all. Admittedly he did have a better 2nd half.

MOTM can only be Bunn. He saved the penalty which meant we went away with 3 points. Simple as that!

We were good value for 3 points, and IMO put in a real 'Champions Performance'

A thoroughly enjoyable day out, oh and Phillips .... remember 'Howards gonna get ya' :icon_lol:

Sure, we didn't get awarded a penalty did we??? I thought Fryatt scored from open play? Unless I was more stoned than I thought I was
:102: What are you talking about, we beat Spurs 3-2 after extra time, Macky. You must have been wasted!

I am also optimistic about next season to a certain extent DG. The point I was making was that we are unlikely (for the obvious reasons) to be in this dominant a position again and that people should be much positive about our ability to maintain our place at the top of the table.

The problem will be next season that we will have a strong 'spine' of a team - Tunchev/Hobbs, Oakley/King, Fryatt/Howard but once we lose the loan players, we do not have strength/skill in depth, nor it would appear, any money to replace them. We have been lucky (or astute scouting) that our loan players this season have really performed well for us, but it does not always work out like that.

MM has already said he will support Pearson financially next season

I hope we are not in this position again. Don't lose sight of the fact that this is the equivalent of the third division. A low point in the history of LCFC. Today's game was between two third division sides.
It could have gone either way. It's great to be where we are and have a run of 20 games unbeaten - couldn't do more, but it is divn. 3

Can we just stop this now?

I know we're in the third division, but other 'big clubs' have been down here and not exactly pulled up trees in their promotion challenges - Man City, for example, struggled up via the play-offs.

Let's just enjoy the moment - pint half-full for me!

Matt you now realise who the doom mongers are!

Well said

As from as loanees go, we've had this discussion before. We'll be able to get better loanees willing to play in the championship and we'll be a better destination for players to be bought.

We are on for 101.757575757575..... points now.

What's the record again? 106?
