Why on earth do ITV show the Chelsea game then make it the main highlights on their highlight show?

so they could interview Di Matteo and Way Wilkins. I think they may have hoped for an upset.

Well here is my take on it after getting home

The first half we were woeful beyond belief attempting no football at all and simply hoofing up to Howards head every time. Palace weren't any better but got a very jammy deflected goal after Edworthy got caught on the wrong side.

Second half we were better and did create more chances than them but Andy King gave away posession on the half way line and left our poor centre halves exposed to their flyer Scannell.

Basically we could have got something if we had imposed ourselves on the game from the start. But for some reason we really didn't look up for it and some of the players performances were really worrying.

Oakley was terrible all night and capped it by missing a 3 yard sitter at the end. I hope it turns out he had the trots as he was Soooo Bad words escape me.

Dickov didn't read Howard all night and looks seriously slow. I am starting to think he might well be finished and is in the Hayles class these days.

King and Berner were both weak in the challenge and devoid of any creativity at all. Boy do we need to secure Davies or another centre mid permanantly.

Edworthy was awful but hopefully we will keep his games to a minimum.

Basically Howard was class apart and was crying out for some quality to join him. Gradel and the Chambers lad looked useful as they had a bit of pace to expose the Palace's average defence.

This was an opportunity to beat a poor team. But due to the combination of strange tactics, selection and general player apathy we have missed a chance to extend our unbeaten run.

I now feel like we must strengthen in the window as based on some of the lads tonight i wouldn't want to put our promotion future entirely in their hands.

Forgot to say that all the centre halves did okay and i thought Hobbs, Morrison and Tunch were mostly in control.

Watched ITV 1 for over an hour (even sitting through Border news) to watch 30 secs of highlights with more focus on Colin than the footy and absolutly no comment afterwards. Thanks ITV, you've just justified why i pay my tv licence

Right from the moment of the 3rd draw, i don't think NP could be arsed with this game.
The home match was negative and boring, with little prospect of us winning by only playing one striker .Tonight with a combination of NP's team selection and his demeanor about the game, it always looked like a nailed on defeat.
Seldom can i recall both the club AND the fans having virtually no interest in the f.a.cup.
Apart from those that wanted to clock up a ground, and those that have not missed a game in a long time, it was imo a completely unrewarding and pointless exercise for the 1000+ city fans tonight.

After listening to the game I had the impression that had we fielded our regular 11 the game would have been a lot closer, would those that went agree?

From what has been said re Tunchev it sounds horribly like a cruciate ligament. If that is the case he's is out until the beginning of next season at the earliest. Terrible news.

Our central defence is now in the hands of 2 20(ish) year old's. Gilbert & Mattock are similar ages also. Very inexperienced.

For me, Tunchev, Howard & Fryatt are the only irreplaceables in our team. Will we regret getting rid of Campbell without any quality cover? IMO, Dicov has yet to prove his worth.

I cannot understand why NP plays Hobbs so much over Morrison. Hobbs makes too many mistakes for me.

Spot on. his awareness is crap, too slow to react and his distibution is on the same level as kisnorbo. shite. kisnorbo at least can defend though.

send the fecker back to liverpool so they can farm him out to another side. while your at it take martin with you. i know were top etc but i just feel we have better players than these two that are our own

When i saw NP's team selection last night i knew that he is not worried about the cup and just selected players to have some match pratice, usually i would be upset when we lose in the FA Cup its always nice to get a big team and try make it on the telly, this time its different.

NP has not really been bothered with the cup, promotion is the target and we are still in reach of that, ashame that Tunchev got injuried but nice to see Chambers get some minutes on the pitch, Gradel, Berner, Mattock all get some more football under thier belt.

If we were playing our usual starting 11 i'm sure we would have got a decent result there but like i said NP wants to win the league and the FA Cup we worry about next season once (Fingers Crossed) we get promoted.

We most definately could of won with our first choice 11 and had plenty of chances even without.

I was just concerned with the absence of commitment and skill some of them showed last night. It was like they collectively agreed (except Howard) to have a stroll and not try to hard. Poor im afraid!!!

First City game i've seen this season and compared to last season better, but still 2 very poor teams.

First half Palace just shaded it (if you call hoofball, football that is), second half Leicester were the better team (certainly the first 20 minutes or so), deflected goal, a breakaway and it was all over.

We never showed any passion at all and it looked like a team who really didn't care whether they won this or not.

Midfield was a bit devoid, but then again we didn't really use it as the hoof to Howard seemed the tactic. Him to then flick on to the 'flying' Dickov.

All in all pretty poor. But my sentiments are the same as teh rest on here, more worried about Tunchypants than a trip to Watford.

All in all, pretty poor all round, bad display, bad result, bad injury.
