I can't see us picking up any points in the final two games of the season...so I dont think we will make the play offs.

Hope I am wrong!

Can we? Of course we can.

Will we? That is a different matter entirely. I can't help but feel it's all too little too late sadly, but at least they're making it slightly interesting for us. I think we'll fall just short, although our goal difference is a genuinely interesting factor.

The only team I think we will really struggle to pick up any points against is West Ham, their away form is fantastic at the minute.

I think if we can manage 10 points from our last 4 games, it just might be enough. Ideally we'll get 12. But if we lose any of our remaining games, we can kiss goodbye to the playoffs.

Bloody hell City, you've got me dreaming of Wembley now...

Voted 'Not sure' but don't think we will make it - but I'm greatly cheered up by the last couple pf performances. Every game is a sort of Russian roulette now - but the bookies odds of around 6-1 suggest that we still have a bit of a shout. Let's keep it going till the death.

The issue is that all the teams competing with us for a place in fifth/sixth are currently in a rut of getting worse results than us. None of Cardiff, Boro or Brighton are playing well enough to get over 70 points. As a consequence, I think 9 or 10 points will be enough, possibly even 8 with our superior goal difference.

I don't think we'll make it but it will probably be very close. Close enough to ensure that we spend the summer properly pissed off at the number of wasted points we've handed to our opponents throughout the season.

Irrespective of who ends up sixth, I think West Ham will batter them in the play off semis anyway. The only team who could give them a game would be us. And by game I mean probably losing on pens at Upton Park as Gallaghers penalty 'technique' finally comes a cropper.

You say that, but West Ham have been pretty awful recently. I went to their game against Watford (a 1-1 draw at Upton Park) last month and there was very little there to suggest they are be a side to fear. Of course there is individual talent in that side and they should go up, but I wouldn't be devastated if we did achieve the unthinkable and have to face them over two legs.

There really is nobody in this division to genuinely fear, as we have shown by beating Southampton twice this year. You wouldn't fancy Reading but every side is capable of a horror show on their day. All hypothetical but I'd take anybody given the chance.

I think that's probably about right.

It would be nice to get carried away but in the unlikely event of us making it to the play offs - we would play the second leg at Upton Park against one of the three sides that is definitely stronger than us - the table does not lie in the middle of April.

The only good thing is that we are able to have this discussion at all now without it sounding too ridiculous.

I've been thinking about that and actually come to terms with it already - every single team in this division will have wasted points in games they feel they "should" have won. A Cardiff supporting colleague was today ruing a 95th minute equaliser they conceded against Cov. It's the way of this division - and also why I don't particularly care who our last 4 games are against, it seems to be pretty random what performance is put on by most sides on any day.

But West Ham could have nothing to play for by then - hopefully having missed out on the auto promotion spots.

One thing I will say - their home form is terrible. Their away form is fantastic.

Maybe sneak in on goal difference as I predicted us to lose to P'boro and Ipswich and finish 3 points short but it will go right to the last game either way. Next 2 games are the ones I'm worried about more as we'll get 6 points from the last 2 games no probs - easily do West Ham at home and Leeds are awful now they've bottled the play offs.

Amazing the change from a couple of games ago, strange what playing in a suited formation to the team and with players playing in their propper positions again!!

Haha didn't realise they still had them two to play. Blackpool will probably beat them but Cardiff will be a stalemate in the battle of the bottlers!!

It's definitely in the balance for us though with a lot of the teams in and around the play offs still having to play each other but I still feel our next game at Millwall will be the pivitol one for us as I don't think we have a great record there and they will be well up for cementing their place in this league for next year so will be a lot trickier than the rest in my opinion.

Incidently, anyone remember the game down there in the mid 90s under Brian Little?? where Terry Horlock got sent off early on and then they had another man go too but I think we still on managed a draw with Kasey Keller making a brilliant one on one save from Iwan Roberts and running back to stop the ball on the line before giving the thumbs up to the lino to say it was on the line. Did this ever happen as I would have only been ~10 but can remember it clear as day!?!!?

I remember. I would have been about the same age. We drew 0-0 if I remember correctly, having beaten them 4-0 earlier in the season. It was the 1993/94 season, my first as a City fan.

I won tickets to that match in a Leicester Trader competition.

Hurlock and Van Den Hauwe were sent off for Millwall. Alex Rae should have been sent off after he punched David Oldfield in the face, but the ref didn't see it. He saw David Oldfield retaliate by pushing Rae in the back with his handbag, and sent Oldfield off. Neil Lewis thought the red card was for him and he made his way to the tunnel before being told to go back.

I remember it well, what a bizarre match that was.

They have the best away record in the division his season yes, but that isn't saying too much. They've won just over half their games on the road, obviously impressive but hardly worth gushing over. West Ham are incredibly beatable and have done their very best to throw away automatic promotion in the last couple of months.

We should back ourselves to beat anybody in this division - we all know how frustratingly inconsistent it is.
