Can we sort out our squad in the next four days?

Posho, where's your chilli sauce, man?
I would expect that the chilli element is in the noodle powder no?

Just feels like it would be a more visceral kebab experience adding the garlic sauce.

Ward, Iversen, Smithies, Justin, Soyuncu, Bertrand, Faes, Evans, Brunt, Amartey, Ricardo, Vestergaard, Castagne, Barnes, Tielemans, Maddison, Ndidi, Praet, Soumare, Albrighton, Wright, Mendy, Dewsbury-Hall, Iheanacho, Vardy, Perez, Daka

Back up to 27.

Let's remember that all we've done is replace Schmeichel with Smithies and Fofana with Faes. Thus making us worse in both positions and not addressing any of the imbalances in the squad.

Tick tock.

I know what you’re saying, but if Fofana was really making himself not available, then we didn’t have him anyway.

He was only going to play up while the window was open. Faes may be a great signing but he's not Fofana and will never be. We've opted to make ourselves worse in order to make some money. There is nothing more to it than that.

Who knows how he'd have been. Soyuncu clearly isn't putting it in behind the scenes, whereas Tielemans seems like he is. We don't know whether he would or he wouldn't.

I don't disagree on the quality of player side of things.

Incidentally, his performances for Turkey have been really poor as well. Looks like one of those promising players that just never make it.

It's the job of the manager to get his players to give their best for the club.

It sounds like the relationship between Fofana and BR had gone wrong. Likewise, he's lost the respect of others such as Praet and Soyuncu due to his 'Management for Dummies' attempts to appear the disciplinarian.

That's why I'm getting close to the conclusion that the best thing for the squad is a change of manager. BR knew he needed quite a turnaround of players this summer and it hasn't happened for various reasons. If you can't change the players, and things are stagnant and awkward with lots of the squad, you can only change the manager.

I get that, I was only making the point that if Fofana decided he was going to hold out, then Faes would be better than a non-playing Wes.

I think the BR question will work itself out in the next couple of weeks, one way or another.

The club have massively ****ed this up. From Rodgers miss management of players, to Ruskin's crazy contract give away, to our poor recruitment, to our ongoing medical problems.

We've gone from a well run, well rounded club the envy of others to potential relegation candidates.

It's not worked out as planned. The stated target now needs to be premier league survival so that a genuine refresh can be undertaken next season.

Soyuncu, Tielemans, Amartey, Perez, Mendy, Choudhury will all be out of contract next summer. Evans too, though I'd expect the club to give him a 1 year extension.

Additionally Ndidi, Maddison, Praet, Vestergaard, Nacho and others will have 1 year remaining and probably move on (faint hopes you can retain the first 2).

In short at least 10 of that squad are extremely unlikely to be here next year.

There's a massive squad turnover coming, we just didn't do enough to offset it this summer. Hence a difficult season ahead - survival a must.
