I would have thought ageing stars more than any other players need to lay off the pop as surely they know their playing on borrowed time.

There was a bit of personal nastiness on this forum when some of us rubbished the idea of signing Fowler.

But even in his heyday there were unprofessional aspects at Liverpool to him.

Subsequently he has been a big disappointment and waste of money on his travels with a somewhat immature attitude for a profeesional footballer that for him it was sort of 'Liverpool or bust'. Now that they have no use for him he pretty blatantly was looking for a few good pay days at a lower level.

At his best he had an extraordinary talent as what we use to call a goal poacher or opportunist - but this was unlikely to translate into making a significant contribution these days at championship level.

As for JFH, I think that he is probably almost finished too - and the main point for buying him would be for marketing purposes - but we would have probably lost out in costs terms.

glad we didn't sign him. just shows how he is lacking in intelligence. if you have just signed for a team this is the last thing you should be caught doing. he has the money, so if he wants to go and get pissed, why not do it where you are not going to get seen. it also shows how serious he is about his football.
