Sorry, I meant he can start DD after Saturday theoretically.

Shit!!! I go away for a few days and come back to find that we have re-signed Dion Dublin!!

hes been great in the 4 games you missed

Note to self: Must learn to read Arabic. It must have got a mention in the local papers over there!!

RL News:

"Presenter: Leicester City's Board of Directors will meet this evening to make plans to recommend Milan Mandaric's bid to the shareholders. An EGM of shareholders will meet tomorrow to consider the offer, well John Barber has been following the story... John, what do we know about what's going to happen?
Barber: Well the board met with Mr Mandaric yesterday to try and get further reassurances about his plans for the future of the club, they now think that they're as close as they'll ever be to recieving that and will be asking shareholders to back Mr Mandaric's takeover of the club. The Board say it's now a credible bid, from a credible buyer, who they feel is far better placed for a push to the Premier League than the curren board themselves.
Presenter: And what about the news that it could take three weeks to get a decision?
Barber: Well, as was revealed on the football forum on Monday, the shareholders will be allowed 3 weeks to decide if they want to back the Mandaric bid. Nothing definitive will be announced tomorrow after the EGM tomorrow, and the board will have to work to lobby any shareholders who aren't convinved by the offer from the Serbian businessman."

Thank the lord!! this deal is going through!!!

I wonder if Jeff and RS will celebrate if get promotion anytime soon :102: :icon_lol:

The offer document is probably already drafted...it is simply a case of Milan circulating it.

It isn't done yet but looks like the club are pushing for it.

Can we please try to keep our feet on the ground however.

Many posters and the media have been under the impression that tomorrow would be D-Day, clearly the club knew this would not be the case, but instead of stating this at the time of the announcement of the EGM, they instead chose to leave fans speculating and indeed hoping that the uncertainty would be resolved tomorrow.

Even the media were convinced they would have a decision to announce tomorrow.

I think as fans, whilst we cannot be informed of confidential information and understandably so, the club I think should at least keep the supporters fully informed of the processes involved. Announcing that no decision was ever going to be made, a day prior to the actual meeting and a full 2 weeks after the original EGM announcement is a pretty strong example of misinformation.

The process was still being resolved this week, hence the lack of anything previously.

The main problem being the indictative offer (as we seem to be calling it), lacked so much detail it would have been difficult for anyone to back it or oppose it. I think the issues that required more detail were made clear to MM & his team both by feedback by the club and the feedback we gave directly to an MM representative earlier this week.

We made it clear to MM's rep that we weren't for or against the bid, but needed answers to a range of issues (most of which we have detailed on our website). We have had some clarification (and wait to see if what was said to us is included in the detailed offer) & await some further information from additional questions raised yesterday. Once we have received further information, now we appear to have a 21 day timescale, we will be able to consult our members in more depth

Someone we all know and love gave me permission to post this (not really related but interesting insight into who might be staying and who might be going after any potential takeover)

TNBD has just had the rug pulled from beneath him (once again!) - McD has just appointed a new sales & marketing director - an old ally of his

Absolutely! It's if we don't get promoted in a reasonable timescale that causes me concerns, what happens then. I'm also interested to see what his offer actually is - it seems as if the board ( and maybe the FT to a greater or lesser extent ) have managed to get some firm proposals out of him.

Silver, I would expect thats only because the person who was previously doing that job left. TD had been doing it since then but I think everyone would agree it requires a professional to make this kind of thing work.

Possible, but tight. Leaves only a few days for due diligence, modifying his business plsn, and finalising his formal offer.

It would indicate either giving the date was another pressure tactic, or he already had his formal offer virtually in place - or, quite likely, both.

Why does he have to wait. As I understand it he could go in any time and complete 'Due Diligence' with view to purchase.

He could have done it a while back, which did and does confuse me somewhat.

Maybe he already has?? Remember we heard a rumour about DD being carried out :icon_wink

He has plenty of time in any case, you are looking at a week max and he has a 21 day stand off period from tomorrow anyway

I'm sure I read somewhere a quote from him that basically said " If my bid is sucessful I will then have to send my accountants and lawyers in". That's all I'm going on TBH, things might have changed since then, which I think was about 10 days ago.

I saw on sky sports earlier a story from the mercury saying there will be no decision on the bid tomorrow..?
