It's one that required thought.....

Motm has to be Ricardo, incredible performance in defence and attack.

Being sat with Chelsea fans near our lot and watching the eruption of noise at FT...

****ing loved it!

Great performance. It seemed like Top has given the players an early Christmas present by saying Claude will be going soon, and told them to ignore his instructions and play how they want. Claude didn't look particularly happy with their disobedience, considering we won.

Great result just hope Puel can see that there is more than one way to win a match and we can be effective with different styles and formations dependent on the opposition . Let's hope we can build on this and have a strong 2nd half to the season.

That must have been a wank into a very, very, very small flannel.

So, to be clear, we may have unearthed another gem following his selection on Tuesday in the so-called weaker team and baffling selection where we narrowly lost on penalties to Man City?
a team which saw players that most on here and other forums said were playing crap got dropped to boot

We didn't 'unearth' Choudhury in that one match. The selection was still idiotic. I would have preferred to be in the semi-final against Burton than to have 'narrowly lost on penalties'. Nothing that happened yesterday changes the utter stupidity of that Manchester City selection; the two are mutually exclusive.

I didn’t see (m)any calls for Albrighton, Vardy, or Maddison to be dropped.

at some point you'll have to accept that Vardy is carrying an injury and cannot play every game, no doubt if this causes him to miss Wednesday's game you will have yet another needless tantrum

There’s no tantrum here mate.

But your point about the players who were dropped being the ones that people said were playing crap and should be dropped - Ricardo, Albrighton, Maddison - is still an inaccurate one.

Don’t get me wrong I’m extremely pleased with the excellent result, but are we not also ignoring that Chelsea hit the woodwork twice?

Was it a significantly improved performance or were we just very very lucky? Have only seen the highlights on MOTD and didn’t listen so genuinely want someone to give their opinion. Stats suggest the second was true...

Yeah think we were very lucky, but aren't football results replete with an element of luck? We had some luck but we also played some sublime football. Maddison's through ball to Vardy for the finish was, as one pundit put it, unstoppable. So yeah, some this, some that. But there was something different about the whole performance. What created that? I don't know...

I've only seen 3 minutes of highlights but it did look like we were allowed to move the ball forward. Hopefully, as we hope after previous random performances, it's something we try more often. I doubt it but it'd be ****ing tremendous.

I saw the Sky highlights and it didn’t seem particularly one-sided, though the last minute effort that trickled along the line was heart-stopping, I grant.

Four away wins before Xmas don’t come along very often, and wins at Stamford Bridge every 25 years or so, so it’s a very happy early Xmas present as far as I am concerned.

Puel simply set up the team to counter Sarri’s tried and tested 4-3-3, contain their threat/Hazzard and see what turned up. What turned up was a classic piece of speedy counter-punching, orchestrated by two of our summer signings. Good show, and Pegguy Arphexad is finally avenged!
