Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

I hope we get Birmingham for a couple of reasons.

1. It's closer to home and less expensive.
2. It'll probably be a 3pm Sat KO, but if we get Chelsea the fixture is likely to be moved
3. Chelsea will probably batter us, irrespective how shite they are currently.

Having said that, Birmingham will take us serious and put out their strongest outfit whereas Chelsea are more likely to rest big players cos they have Napoli and Spurs either side of us. Meh....I guess.

1. We would get more tickets if it's at Chelsea.
2. It won't be at 3PM on Saturday. All four ties are televised.
3. They didn't batter Birmingham.

They didn't batter us either a few seasons back and we have a much stronger squad now, and they arguably have a weaker one. That said, the odds are still in their favour and this is the quarter final of the FA cup not the early rounds of the LEague cup but they are still likely to rest players. We have a chance.

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

We're still fairly close to Christmas and we historically do well against them at Christmas time, as per the song

The Pythagorean method of numerology gives Chelsea a value of 26 whereas Birmingham have a value of 58.

I think that answers most questions on the topic.

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

I had less worms than usual in my afternoon stool today. I'm not at all sure what this indicates, but it definitely did have a noticeably less offensive smell than is usual, which I feel sure is a positive sign.
I welcome the input of any turdologists. And when i say "welcome the input" I genuinely do accept anything you'd like to put into this

Not doing to bad for someone registered blind my appologise leicester is that better

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

Why is it likely that we'll be playing Chelsea? They drew at home against a Chmapionship outfit, Birmingham now get to play them on their own patch and therefore anything can happen. Even if Chelsea do win the fact that Birmingham came away with a draw shows that it can be done and we gave them an extremely good run for their money in the League Cup a few years back when they were on that massive unbeaten run at home. It wasn't the perfect draw by all means but it wasn't terrible. I would have feared Spurs, Liverpool or Sunderland more than Chelsea.

I hope and think that it will be Chelsea. Birmingham may win the replay but the greater likelihood is that Chelsea will have too much quality for them and Birmingham will try to press forward at home and get caught on the break.

If we do get Chelsea we get to play a big match - an occasion - which has been lacking this season and as Chelsea's fixtures mount up we have a bit of a chance of causing what would be a real upset which would half-make what has been a generally dismal season. We could afford to give the game our all because it could well be the last meaningful fixture of the season. I could be tempted to go to Stamford Bridge - a cold afternoon at st Andrews does not really appeal.

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

In a strange way we have a better chance of beating Chelsea than Birmingham IMO.

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

hope it doesnt get switched to Sunday, weve got a game (v Blackpool) the following Tuesday (20th)

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

Chelski all day long for me, the fans will be fantastic (like at Norwich) the players will up their game (like at Norwich) and we will beat the feckers (just like at Norwich)

Indeed, and some of us have already purchased our train tickets for Blackpool.

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

Chelsea please, cheaper to get to

we want them to beat Napoli (ties 21/2 and 14/3)

in fact, we want the first leg tmr to be tight or a Napoli win, meaning a full strength side for the 14th March...maybe even extra time

hopefully on the saturday too, no time for them to rest

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

I really don't get the impression that Villas-Boas really cares about this competition, I was reading in the paper this morning that he's focussed on getting success in Europe. Hopefully he'll underestimate us.

Re: Chelsea / Brum v Leicester FA Cup Quarter Final

Well his job is on the line if he fails in Europe however if he got to the FA Cup Final he would still possibly lose his job before the Final took place if they are not in the Champions League Final as well.

Yeah, I really don't think Abramovich is remotely bothered about winning the FA Cup. Although, having said that, I bet they won't want to finish the season without a trophy.
